Yes guys, DJR now have the services of Roger Higgins as Development Director and Greg Wheeler as Technical Director. This bolsters what I believe has been an area of weakness in the past. Shame DJR didn't retain Ron Tauranac as he was the reason behind DJR's mid-season resurgence last year. I believe he is now working at Team Perkins.

sorry for the late response to answer the question boss290 djr,s weakness is public due to the lack of results in podduim results but have gained a lot this season in respect to the last season, and in fact mid corner speed has nothing to do with straight line mumbo as for why a possible air intake problem. Straight line speed punching through gears at high engine rpm in a straight line is where air intake has its maximum gain, there is no doubting that the straight line mumbo is there, but does it have it,s downside in mid cornerpower when engine rpm is lower and air induction points move therefore causing a kind of flat dead spot in conering. As to the clowns on race day obvisualy in most motorsports people show a fair bit of respect to other drivers and teams for turning up week to week to entertain us so the only people that are clowns are people like you that sit their and make stupid statements about apparent clowns on race tracks ,tell me how much does a clown pay to go and watch v8 supercars ?[)]

Well at the risk of having pie again for dinner on sunday night.
If Junior and Luffy don't qualify well they've got big problem's.
Passing at poke a kiwi isn't the easist thing to do.
If you have all the race pace nessesary, it mean's squat, because you won't be able to pass that easy

Mick, when I mentioned fighting thru the clowns on race day, I was referring to some of the backmarkers that haunt the lower order. I'm sorry that you obviously took that as a dig at you... now as to the name calling, maybe you'd be more comfortable over at conrod.com, as they like that sort of thing over there. This place seems like a nice polite place, where DJR fans can politely talk about their motor racing enthusiasms without being hassled by ****ers...

don't need a long neck to be a goose...

Thanks mitchell i am trying to keep it civil but there is still a question unanswerd. As to your comment boss 290 i have been a follower of djr for a long time the thing that anoyed me about clowns is some of the people you are talking about are djr team mates that are backmarkers .Back markers would have been the better way to put in the begining and there would be no motorsport alive and well without them turning up week in and week out.As for the original question i am still waiting for a reply As far as name calling goes you are the goose that put there neck out to be chopped

Mick, this is becoming an ever more interesting subject, and your responses indicate that you have knowledge in the field that you could perhaps convey to our "beleaugered" team in order to lift them up the standings.

Two points I would like to make however, is that the term "clowns", or "clown" is described in the Oxford Dictionary as " a comic entertainer" - a term certainly worthy of some of the backmarkers in V8 Supercars; I hark back to the performance of one Paul Weel at Lakeside in 1998 - quite comical unless you were behind the wheel of car 17, and the recent demise of Thexton Motorsport.

Number 2 is that, given the engine management systems utilised in this particular category, air intake at high speed is NOT necessarily beneficial to overall engine and horsepower performance. The biggest edge over comepetitors ( this is taken as said from both sides of the fence) is in slow to mid speed corners - not so much entry but their ability to maintain mid corner speed - something that all BA Falcons still lack with direct comparison to the VY Commodore.

I welcome your educated response, but hasten to add that, as someone who has poured heart, soul, and dollars into this club, I personally, notwithstanding the opinion of anyone else in here, will not tolerate abuse of other members, or slanderous comments. There seems to be enough of that on the other DJR site - perhaps I could email you the link!

Thanks doug for your reply this was not a dig or ment to be in any form of abuse to this site ,other sites go along the same tangent of running of the rails to certain questions. I came on to this site to get some sort of technical answers after all this is an official site that you guys run and fund yourselfs and in the begining was a chance for me to not to talk to people that have no idea what they are talking about but blame backmarkers for the lack of pace djr currently have if i have upset anyone i then apolagise. As to number two the engine managament sytem that is used has it perimeter,s but as far as they go, motec is the best unit on the market today. As far as air intake systems go there is a graet deal of horsepower to be made as proven on many cars that i have either built or dyno tuned given the factors that are gained through a well built sytem are incredable opun saying that, it was something that was put out there only as a possability ,on the other side it is a very hard system to build due to relavent factors from a chassis dyno to race track to have a consistant figure of horse power due to relevent air intake point,s and track temprature at speed ,and then straight line at the top end of the engine rpm scale to cornering where engine rpm and load are graetly different. As far as the comment between ford versus holden why is ambrose up there then.I await for any replys or theory,s on the same old question what is djr lacking, THANKS :ps it is graet to talk to some one civil again

Gday Mick, that's interesting about the air intake - my mistake, as I was sure it offered very little in the way of performance enhancement. As for the cars performance, or lack thereof, I still maintain that if they could carry their"practice session" pace through to qualifying, eg. go with the field rather than remain static, then the race results would come. Steve has proven he can climb up as many as 10 - 15 places in normal dry condidtions, if he qualified top ten, the sclaps he claim would be fewer, yet would possibly put him on the podium.
And apologies if my reply to you earlier was heavy handed - no offence intended, just paranoid about this place becomeing a slangfest.

Mick, I offer my deepest apologies for offending you, it wasn't my intention. I was trying to say much of what Doug says in the post above, but didn't do much of a job of it. Can we wipe the slate and start again?

No dramas Duog, i have just seen the latest reults from n.z. Steven,s car straight off the bat showed the goods but has yet again not gone forward it seems that the setup is good but still fine tuning is required .Is it possable that car 18 is a djr guinee pig for new tech that team djr is currently working on also is it possable to find out what lap in all sessions was the best laps for both cars and how many cars where on the track on that relavent lap .As for you boss290 it is quite funny about the way things pan out just think dont act untill you think, please consider the statemants you have made and in reference to that, look at where Luffy is and this is why i attacked you in the way that i did as an avid djr supporter thanks guys ..

Aides i think any real question about any relevent facts to do with this years series you will never get any sort of answer for. Actually i think this place could be compare to a game of hot patatoe, or possibly dodge ball there has never been any answer on anything ever asked by myself on this subject just apparent peoplle such as boss 290 trying to get into a slangfest witch is qute funny now knowing who he is.

Doug, Keith, Scott, and myself run this thing all on our lonesome, Mick... We all have fulltime commitments outside of the club, and I can assure you that we all try our very best to get you guys the information you want... None of us gain any profit, either, I might add...

Due to work (or in my case, school), it's been hard for us to find a date that suits both us and the team, for an official meeting... And until we have that meeting, direct contact with the team just wont happen...

Negative talk like that, Mick, isn't helping the cause.

Hi Mick, whilst this is an open notice to all, I am sure you will derive something positive from the following:
Given increased work commitments, and an apparent air of dissolution on the site, namely from one individual, I have decided to pass on my position to anyone who wishes to take it. I want to publicly thank all the people who added positive input, and my good friend Mark from Shout Graphics who has kindly hosted the site free of charge. I wish all the loyal members all the very best for their respective futures, and invite Mick to perhaps step up to the plate, fill the void, and provide us eager "fans" with all of the info that the site has apparently been missing.
Cheers all.

Answer me 1 question please just 1.

Why oh why do DJR forum site get tied up in so much crap.
I was hoping this one might be a little different.
Am I wrong to think this.
Can we not have a place where we can go and have discussion on the team we support, with out something happening that proves to be a distraction.
I hope so.

Doug: Thank you for your time and effort you have placed into this site. It was for a while a wonderful place to go and interact with similar people with similar likes.

Thank you
