Perkins has confirmed the 2 young drivers for him next year. Shane Price and Jack Perkins. Hope Jack trails Skaifey again, like at Bathurst.

Yeah I saw in on the V8 Supercars website too. I must admit I am suprised by that announcement. Maybe LP had no other real options given that everyone else was either contracted or already on the move. Sound like even Jack was suprised to get the call up...

Larry is such a tight arse when it comes to paying drivers, he has stated many times that he refuses to pay them what most other teams pay their top drivers. He then gets the ****s with his drivers when leave for more money offered by another team. It will be intersting to see what Jack Daniels Co. have to say about this halfway through the year if their cars are running in the bottom half of the feild all season.

Larry has made a few odd decisions lately. Why would he sell his L1 franchises off only to have to buy them back later? Why wouldn't you pay drivers like Ingall and Richards what they are worth in the open market? Maybe Larry knows something the rest of us don't?

I agree, Marshall is way overated.

Bit suprised with Jack & Shane but hey, it's Larry's team & if he thinks there capable.... good luck to him.

Well done to Shane & Jack, in hindsight probably the right decision but will probably take them 12 mth's to get to grips with it, but if Larry has some input, you never know.

Has to be a step forward from that bloody useless Dumbrell! With Dumbrell & McConville at PWR, the young fella's at JDR, & with PMM & GRM continuimg to struggle & added to Walden & Owen, there are gonna be a lot of Holdens at the wrong end of the field this year..LOL.

GTR Magic on Ten-Tenths is reporting that DJR are customer supplying for Howard Racing in the Dev Series this year. Hopefully some more $$$ for DJR.

I understood that it was a "forced" sale (as part of his divorce settlement).

Yup , I agree, I also heard it was to make up a shortfall in divorce cash up money.

Hope everyone had a safe and U- beaut break , happy new year everyone.

With Jim Beam coming on board i'm wondering how many more seasons Junior is going to get to prove himself.
Not having a top line driver has hurt DJR big time.
Lets face it Will out performed him this year.

I agree with Marshall being overrated. He just hasn't got a mention at all this silly season and seems to be out of a drive. I was jst throwing in his name as an option!

I completely disagree.. Will was only quicker than jnr in maybe 2 or 3 rounds... I'd hardly call that "out performing". I can't wait for next year, to see jnr (who is a top driver & a champ given the right car) to out perfom Will again!!

Will did outperform Steven towards the end of the year. However if you take out the last round Steven was still right up there. Hopefully we will have 2 cars at the pointy this year.

Hi guys

Happy New Year to you all. I did a comparison between SJ and WD just after Phillip Island. Average position of all races & qualifying with DNF's called Pos 31, Will has an average of 17.53. Steve's was 14.62. These disclude Bathurst/Sandown/GP. Average Qualifying position was 15.81 for Will and 16.0 for Steve. Given Will's amazing run of BAD LUCK and being hit by other cars at Tas, Bahrain and other tangles through the year at NZ, WA and Winton plus obvious lack of time in these cars, coupled with learning a number of the circuits as he went (Learning all in these cars) I think he had a standout year. Steve has been in this category on a full time basis for 6 or 7 years now, seeing all these circuits every year and being completely at home in these cars. I'm not saying Will outperformed Steve, because it's proven he didn't. But when you take into account all circumstances and Will's raw speed while still learning car/track it's incredible how talented the guy is!

I took out Sandown and Bathurst because they were both in the same car, but if you go to www.natsoft.com.au and pick out the Co-Driver sessions, you'll see that Will was faster than Steve at both tracks on old tyres but wasn't given a shot in Qualifying. I'm not saying it's wrong or politically incorrect or beaurocratic, it's the way it is but the fact is Will was faster.

Steve is definately a top level driver. He's unbelievable at accident avoidance and his experience pays massive dividends in this series. Will will be a force to be reckoned with this year and I can't wait to see it.

Keep it sideways boys
Marcus

I never said Will was slow.. I think he is a future champ as well & did a fantastic job in 2006. I do however have a problem with poeple having a "go" at jnr!!

With 888 chassis, DJR engines & Jim Beam $$$$ I expect nothing short of a few race & round wins from both cars in 2007!! But I still think jnr will be in front!.

I have to admit I have higher expectations for Steve, I am continually amazed at how he does at times avoid accidents but it rarely converts to positional gain and I do find myself at time saying have a go, just for once give them what you've been on the recieving end of, but It's quite obvious that with the last few years of financial constraints , the both he and Dick have an agreement to minimise the damage costs where it's possible.

Will is a talent , there's no arguement there, and If there's a decent budget this season I expect him to out perform some of the other ' new kids ' and in doing that he'll push Steve to bigger things as well, there's nothing like a new dog in the house to get the old bloke up and playing like a pup. Steve is a good "technically" man in the drivers seat and a rock steady top ten finisher, with a good budget I think he can perform, I sure hope so.
