Me give up on DJR.. NO WAY would have to amputate my left arm first or get the tattoo lasered off and neither will happen.

Am thinking of (With permission of the Minister of Finance first) getting the 7 DJR championship winners tattooed on my right arm either in an armband or down the length of my arm.

Fair weathered fans will come and go but the dinky-di TRUE BLUE fans will stick around through thick an thin.

@ 4EVER17 with your last comment it's fair to say you have definately lost your self titled mantle as SJ's #1 favourite fan....:D

Having been a fan since Dick became a Rockstar when I was 8, I've been on-board for all the Highs, and so many lows. I was recalling the glory days of the late 80's on another forum this morning, and it's been a long time since DJR was the pre-eminent force... to be honest, we haven't enjoyed a truly top-line driver lineup since DJ & JB hung up their helmets, but I hold big hopes for Moffat.

I remain a DJR fan, mainly through my gratitude for their many years of flying the Ford flag at the front of the Ford pack... and while my enthusiasm for what passes for touring car racing in Australia is not, and is unlikely to ever be again what it was once, and for the time being, DJR aren't quite our best chance of Ford victory, I still watch and quietly hope to see #17 doing good things.

Am i missing something, do people really support the others?
Since i first met Dick at Sandown (the old pit location for those old enough to remember) i have always been a one eyed true blue Dick Johnson supporter and will remain so until either Dj or I check out of this place.
There is plenty of race car drivers but few legends of the sport.

Yeah mate I do

I follow DJR first and foremost, but if like at the moment we aren't in a position to be challenging for a win I want a car with a blue oval badge on the front to take the win every day of the week

The 500 Gets A New Format

V8 SUPERCARS have tweaked the qualifying sprints on the Saturday at next year’s pre-Bathurst, 500-kilometre race when it returns to its traditional home at Sandown.
After introducing the ‘twin sprints to determine the grid’ format at the L&H 500 at Phillip Island in 2008, a few modifications have been made for next year’s event.
There will still be two short sprints on Saturday afternoon to determine the grid for the 500-kilometre race on Sunday, however some major changes have been made.
A regular qualifying session (in which any driver in a combination can take part) will determine the grid for the first sprint, which will be for co-drivers.
The finishing positions of the co-drivers sprint becomes the grid for the next sprint where the regular championship drivers take back their cars.
The way they then cross the line at the end of the second sprint is the way the cars will grid up for Sunday’s race.

There will be no compulsory pit stops in the Saturday sprints as opposed to previous years.
The change has been recommended by the V8 Supercars Commission and approved by the Board.
Previously under the format used for the last four 500s at Phillip Island, teams could decide which of their drivers would race in which of the sprints, although one had to take a compulsory stop for two tyres to be changed.
The combined points from the two sprints would determine the grid for the 500-kilometre endurance race.
Next year’s Sandown 500 will be held in Melbourne on September 14-16, 2012.

Sounds more like a lottery to me ! They may as well just pick the grid out of a hat ?

So can someone confirm for me that DJR currently owns one REC. And we are going to run a four car team?

DJR x 1
+ Leased (CS 2012 only) x 1
+ Fiore's x 1
+ Buy/Lease PMM x 1 (& swap the PMM comode that comes with it, for Webb's FG)

= 4

Not sure what happens when/if CS take his back! Go back to 3, or...... maybe buy both PMM RECs & lease one to Webb ???

Unless another team has poached Jim Beam by offering a superior value proposition, I can't see them pulling their advertising budget, sales of product have been increasing since they got behind V8's and DJR, and Fred seemed to insinuate on that evening where we all enjoyed samples of sponsor's product, that the deal was a long term one.

Thats good to hear if true Rob. I'd hate for DJR to have to go through another sponsorship drama like we did in 2005 before Jim Beam saved the day in 2007. It's hard to actually believe that JB has been on for 5 years now! As my late old man would say...Don't blink....
