The more I look at it Rob, the more I think it;s going to be close to its original paintwork when it's finished... it has 1993 paintwork on the airdam (funny, I forgot to check to see if it had the 1994 winglets when I was there the other week... will have to go back soon!)

Loved them all, even the Mustang. All time favourite without a doubt is XD TRU-BLU.

Didn't think I'd care for the Sierra's at first (you know, made in the UK, only 4 cyl's etc....) but soon won me over with the amazing performance Dick could extract from that car. I was fortunate enough to see Dick and JB on TV in the UK in '88 when racing it over there and absolutly thrashing the opposition easily until a water pump, I believe, gave out. Their success they acheived on that day despite the outcome gave me a moment of great national pride "the Aussie underdog sticking it up the best in the world and bloody near pulled it off too". As good as DJR is, boy they have also had their fair share rotten luck.

I like the Westpoint BA's best. Hated the Sierras, EB's, EF's and EL's for patently obvious reasons. My nickname should give it away.

Hard to pick a favourite but I think 1983 Greens Tuf XE! If not for a couple of trees this car would have gone down in history as one of the great racing Falcons.

Watching Dick's lap until he got to Forrest's Elbow still makes my hair stand up!

After going to the historics at QR on the weekend i just got to say that those Group C cars were absolutely fabulous.
The sound the twitchyness the look.
The only thing that didn't give me a woody was the rice burner.
The RX7 is one car that i don't miss hearing at race meetings today

This ones a weird comment but Dick's final year AU - mostly cos I wondered at the seating position - any further back and Dick would have been laying down - quite impressive that he could even apex from that angle.

I didn't mind the rice burners bigcol, they were an integral part of group C. Admittedly they don't sound anywhere near as good as the V8's but they sound better than alot of other things getting around. i.e Formula Holden or whatever it is called now, and what about those old 635 Beemers? They sounded terrible.

You're right Jason they were part of Group C.
It's just the noise they make is bloody horrible.
Formula Holden is the crappiest noise i have ever heard apart from a Barbara Striesand CD

bigcol, I think you were a bit hard on the Formula Holden's!

My little RX-3/808 Coupe sounded pretty damn good, I thought! But it didn't stop Torana drivers from making smart comments along the lines of "wank, ****, ****" when I pulled along side them.I used to get a great deal of pleasure from seeing the looks on thier face in the mirror as I disappeared into the distance! Then again iy sounded nothing like one of those Group C beasts! They would bring the Monkey's out of the trees those jiggers!

Ford Sierra sponsored by Shell. 300km/h is it's top speed. Just don't why understand this car could be beaten by the Nissan Skylines.

Yeah, good old Bill O'Brien in the Everlast VL. Driving up through Reid Park 93, runs wide, runs out of talent & straight into the path of #17.. Happened right in front of me..
'93 I was 8 years old, my first bathurst race after leaving my home town, we went back to see my grand parents, and went up to the races, we were at Reid Park, watching DJ then I felt a big bang, looked around and couldn't see anything, everyone to our right, stood up and ran over to see what had happened, they ran back, and told us DJ crashed, from then on I wanted to go home, I had seen enough.

my Fav DJR car would have to be the Sierra, closely followed by Greens tuff XE only cause my dad help rebuild it after it chopped down trees on the way to Lithgow.
