bigcol ; It can actually happen, my youngest son is a Ford supporter but only when he's not looking at some rice boy ****e , but the oldest son ( sigh ) he's a holden lover. Started off just wanting to get anything that wasn't like the old man but after the first jap car died . and seeing how i had a real nice 2 door HQ he decided the holden's were the go, He has very little mechanicle aptitude and i've spent many weekends helping him repair , engines, gearboxes, clutches, etc. He's hard on them i guess because he's had about 6 now from VC to VR and not one has got past 6 weeks without somthing breaking. My worst nightmare occured with a VK 6 he blew the engine in on christmas, and being short of time i let him badger me into changing over to my Blue 202 with the black motor 12 port head which i had in a HQ i used to race. Then a few days later he wrote it off and let them take it to the wreckers for $100. I still have his blown up 202 and 4 speed in my shed. very sad.

I nearly whacked my 4 year old across the room the other night when he is "Mark Skaife is good". I quickly determined that he had heard it at pre-school and set him straight! He likes Marcos Ambrose mainly because he likes the colours of the car. My 3 year old daughter loves "Jnr", ever sibce we went to Oran Park and she got her photo taken with him and talked to him. I had to make an enlarged copy so she could put it on her wardrobe door! They grow up too quick I'm tellin' ya!

My boys were all given options any Ford team if they wanted merchandise, anything else if they wanted to buy their own, oldest is eight so it worked a treat, it would take a major family rebellion for them to go red. Same thing worked with the footy I gave them a list of banned teams, Manly and Collingwood being just two and they chose their teams from the rest, so I got one DJR son, one Geelong and one Cronulla and none go for hated enemies like HRT,Collingwood or St George, by the time they are old enough to buy their own clobber they will all be well and truly brainwashed but I wouldnt blame my 6 year old for dumping DJR over the flag debacle. I sent them a polite email outlining my dissapointment and will be very disenchanted if I do not at least get an acknowledgement[V]

Probably fit for a thread of it's own guys.. it's a decent discussion.

My Old mans' first car was a Torana, his second a Monaro... go figure..

A friend of ours, Mark, he's a mad John Bowe fan and his son came along with us to Bathurst 2 years ago wearing all HRT gear. This year he returned with his new XR6 Turbo, and a suitcase full of SBR stuff..

I still ave the flag that Ford gave out for free at Bathurst last year, complete with stick. Sounds like DJR could learn a thing or two from Ford!

You're right Nascar 12 it is the cars that need a bit of stick and the engineers and the management and the drivers and the P.R dept etc etc etc, however if this mob want to keep old fans (me) and nurture new ones (My kids) little things like customer satisfaction at merchandise trucks is a bloody good start. By the way am still waiting on a reply from DJR.:(

Hi guys,

I have returned from my holiday and it was great. I was really pleased to see Glenn beat Junior home on Sunday (sorry fellas). I found out a lot of interesting stuff at the track at PI, probably much of which I can't repeat, but I need to warn you all - GET RID OF STEVE CHALKER. He is going to take DJR down. He has 51% of the shares, thus controlling interest and too much say in how the team runs. The general feeling is that the self sponsorship is suicide. Westpoint left because of this man. He didn't want to take on Dean Canto because Dean doesn't have the "right pedigree" (or in other words, no money). Two championships obviously don't count.

Something else, because Seto and Dean beat Steve and Will home at Bathurst, there was NO celebration of the top 10 fifnish and they were both treated like ****. This all comes from a very very good source within the team.

I will ask the same question here as I did in the chat section:

I gather you wont revel names but what position do "your sources" hold within DJR ?
Are thay staying with DJR or going ?

So Steve Chalker owns 51% of DJR???? Am I understanding you correctly Seto18??? I thought he was only the General Manager of DJR & DJR was 100% owned by Dick & Jill Johnson!!

Very strange if this is true that's for sure but I know one thing for sure, that is DJR better release some very positive news sooner rather than later as all this negitive publicity is doing the team no good at all & driving what little fans we have left onto other teams. You only have to read other forums to see what people's reaction is concerning the once great Dick Johnson Racing & it's current actions surrounding firstly Westpoint, then Glen Seton.

I started this thread with the title 'WTF's going on DJR' & the teams fortunes seem's to worsen everyday!! Today we have the confirmation of our undoubtably most successful driver in current times joining a rival Holden team. How does this happen??? DJR should have moved heaven & earth to find Dean a seat for 2006 in the main game even if it meant finding the extra funds to run a 3rd car for Dean to race.

This is all getting VERY frustrating that's for sure!! Doesn't David Segal still do the media work for DJR??? If he does, he need s a good kick in the arse like the rest of the team ATM!!! How about some positive feedback from within the workings of DJR to give US, the most loyal of DJR fans, some hope for the future & something to look forward to for next year!!!

Duckegg..... Nothing!!! All we hear about is negative publicity & the rumours about Seto not being paid out (If it's true) do nothing to help the situation!! How about DJR come out & say this is totally bull**** & someone has wot their mucken gords in a fuddle!!! But NUP, they just let the rumours build legs & then it get's blown out of all proportion!!

C'mon DJR... Don't forget the people who helped get you where you are today..us, the loyal fans of DJR!!!

You just have to look at teams results since Steve Chalker has joined DJR, not all that flash and just recently he has joined the TEGA board. Thats like me joining the bingo club. Seems to me every time Mitchell asks Chalker a question regarding DJR he gives a nothing answer.

As a loyal DJR fan, whats happening up there.

Westpoint left because of this man.

Didn't Westpoint get the boot because they couldn't meet their commitments? Aren't they also the reason that Seto hasn't been paid?

This was also in todays West Australian Business News...

Watchdog steps up Westpoint pressure
The Australian Securities and Investments Commission has widened its probe into Norm Carey's Westpoint group to include the top of his corporate empire, launching a new batch of legal actions as part of a sweeping investigation into the property and investment operation.

More here if anyone cares to read it.

From what I've read elsewhere is that Seto want's the 2006 money now & DJR want's to pay him in installments throughout 2006 which seems reasonable to me..

The truth is out their somewhere!!!
