:( Mate that is so depressing. [V]

That is just pathetic!! Can someone explain to me how Canto can lap almost a 1/4 of a second quicker in that OLD Gatorz BA with that extra 100kg more ballast than the Westpoint cars, without ANY testing throughout the year. WTF is going on.

Canto's best lap was a 1.36 flat, #18 1.36.2 & Old jnr's best was 36.3. There is no excuses in this one as both races were almost the same length & if anything, Canto should have been disadvantaged in this situation as the main game cars could pit for fresh treads where as the Development series cars had to do the whole 22 laps without a pit stop.. Is Canto THAT good compared to Jnr & Seton [?] Buggered if I know. Why is it that the Gatorz Falcon is such a jet & the Westpoint cars are so slow [?] Do the same people & technicians work on both lots of cars or what [?]

We then sit back and watch the DJR pitcrew in action & it was just pre school stuff[)][)], I mean, Tander bragged on about how the HSV Dealer Team are upset if they have a stop slower than 4 seconds......DJR took 5 bloody seconds to find the bloody wheel..[)]They weren't even ready for the stop!! How can that be[?] Don't DJR have radio comunication in their team or what[?][?]

God I hope Davison can make a difference next year..

Thank God Ford have Ambrose, Lowndes & Ingall..[^][^]

It can only get better after today!

One good thing to come from it was Glenn showed fairly good pace towards the end. The leaders got away a little bit when they lapped him but I don't think there was alot in the lap times.

Hope for better tommorrow!

Has the drivers given up with sheer furstration in qualifying? DJR finished below Mark Skaife- that is disappointing.

The cameras didn't tell the story; how come Skaife was driving on the grass?

Rob , don't feel to bad about it.
I don't expect anything else from DJR these days.
They really are becoming the laughing stock of v8's.
Canto showing better lap times than both Seto and Junior has more than likely justified why Seton no longer has a drive with DJR.
Unfortunately Junior still has a drive with DJR.
IMHO Canto should have been given the nod ahead of both Seto and Junior.
This team is now so bloody sloppy in everything it does. Pit stops are just the start. If they can't even get that right, what sort of things go on in the workshop.

No mention of the days events on the DJR website, must be too embarrassed to put any information up, can't blame them either.
The team should just concentrate on helping Canto tomorrow and tell Jnr and Seto to look after themselves.:D

Maybe they can fit some nitrous over night that might give us a chance..

Nup, they would still find some way to screw it up!! Really enjoyed watching our cars racing around with Britek & WPS yesterday. It was good stuff!!

I have a better solution to the problem though: How about we let Canto & Denyer drive their rigs in the main game race today after they finish their Development commitments. Couldn't do any worse!!

Rob, I totally hear you and I am just as frustrated as the next guy. The difficulty with your comparison of lap times is that Dean consistently qualifies up the front in the HPDC races, and DJR struggle to qualify in the main game. Therefore, Dean sets his best lap with nothing but clear air in front and behind him, whilst SJ and Seto are setting their best laps mid-pack battling the traffic.

DJR's biggest issue is qualifying. Their race pace is fair, but they just can't get their cars to work over a hot lap. Interestingly, they seeem to set their fastest qualifying laps at the end of the session, where people like Skaife, Lowndes and Ambrose appear to do so early in the session. To me this suggests the DJR cars don't work too well on cold tyres in qualifying and by the time they are up to temperature, they have past their optimum performance.

I have said it before and I will say it again...if the drivers are given a good car, you watch them fly...especially Junior. He is a great driver that rarely makes mistakes and brings a pretzel back to the team. He must be as frustrated as anyone, but I am glad he will be back next year. DJR are just outside the window. If they can find a couple of tenths, especially in qualifying, they would be consistently in the ten, if not challenging for regular podiums. I hope DJR heavily invest some of next year's increase in funding into some serious engineering talent. Bring back Ron Tauranac. He single-handedly turned DJR around in 2003 within the space of about 6-8 weeks. Why did DJR not retain his services as a consultant I will never know!!!

I think we need someone like Campbell Little to turn around DJR's fortunes ROB!!

Well done Seton today as he showed some good pace but unfortunately it was too little too late as the weekend had already bolted!!

Bring on 2006!!

Another race closer to that win that will break the drought.

I my self am looking foward to 2006.

New driver(s).
Innovative marketing and sponsorship.
The defending team in the devolpment seriers.
Plenty of air play on channel 7.
Race wins.

I have allready book my Holidays for the Clipsal next year, and have got an empty credit card locked away ready for that DJR truck on the Clipsal Thursday next year.

This year, to me, started off with a lot of promise exciting new sponsor and colour scheme, a lean and mean looking junior in #17, a legend in #18, some signs of hope in the early part of the season providing DJR could avoid smashes, but mid year on nothing much was built on the performances from the start of the year.

Yep Poita, roll on 06.

I just checked the final results of the "Team Championship Table" and noticed that DJR/Westpoint finished the year 5th, this is not a bad effort when you look at the teams that finished behind them. And here I was thinking they had a bad year!!! [:I]

They did have a bad year Poita. 5th in the team championship doesn't seem to mean a great deal when neither car finished in the top 10. Not forgetting that this IS the first year since 1979 that djr haven't achieved at least 1 podiom throughout a year.

Well it's not all bad news, Seton did finish Bathurst in the top 10.

I reckon this team has hit a new low. Trackside commentator talking about DJR's 3 second "Practice " stops then they balls up the real ones. My youngest (The only one who has stuck with his dad in supporting this mob) kept asking me at the start if DJR were in this race as he c ouldnt see them that far back on the grid. It was a great weekend my first at P.I but this may be an indication of how low this mob are now. I buy No:1 son SBR flag, he's happy. No;2 son 888 flag, he's happy, No:3 son DJR flag, no stick to wave the bloody thing with, whats he supposed to do with it wipe his arse. Try explaining to a six year old why the bloody hell someone sells you a flag for 30 odd bucks without a friggin stick, so I spend the next 20 minutes walking around the trees trying to find a bloody stick to fit the stinking flag. I've supported this mob loyally for 25 years through good results and bad, however if you keep treating supporters like s#*t there will not be many left. A bloody stick may seem very trivial but it is important to a six year old with his flag that he cant wave, I even tried to convince him to jump ship to SBR or 888 so his brothers cant keeep putting s#*t on him but he is sticking with me. They will really want to do some poaching of engineering staff during summer as things cannot get any bloody worse, the teams reputation is in disarray,I'll say it again I'm not going anywhere but there will not be many of us left if it keeps going this way.

Your doing better than me Donk, at least 1 of your kids follow DJR. None of my kids wan't to support DJR no matter how much I try to brain wash em as they like to follow winners like SBR & 888. At least my kids love the blue oval which is the main objective..
