As I sit here on Saturday evening reading this, it's amazing that you people actually took the time to respond - very nice of you. DJR is going to nail things next year, I am sure, but hats off to Mitch and BeeJay who got lapped with this thing when I fell over - Kudos to them both!!

One thing about us TRUE DJR supporters Doug is that we are firstly, pretty down to earth people & secondly were very loyal.
Best wishes mate.

One thing DJR are doing Joe, that's keeping everyone guessing. So many bull**** rumours flying around & I bet old Dick's just sitting back having a great old laugh, & good on him, knowing everything is in place for a full on assault on the 2005 ATCC.
Personally I don't think Seton would have signed on if there wasn't a budget in place for the next few years. That would have been one of the first questions Seto would have asked team management. Although I still think there may be another sponser (who ever that might be) alongside Shell next year.

Guys I have an inside source from DJR, thats all I can say on that...

All the info I can get is the new sponsor is blue and white, and starts with a "W"

All I can come up with is "Big W"? I know it doesn't start with "W" but thats all I can come up with.

No matter what I say, thats all the info he'll give up.

Any guesses?

Good things come to those who wait, we've waited so long for a win a few more weeks for the big mystery to be solved wont kill us. Of everything I have read the blue colours tying in with OPTIMAX makes sense with an associate sponsor, as long as the future is secure I can handle waiting as long as it takes.

Looks like the Westpoint-Shell-DJR BA's next year for Seto & Jnr, & the Summit Fleet Leasing BA's for Canto & Denyer in the Development series.[^][^]

Sounds like they will be Beejay. Seton's new #18 BA should be nearly completed which gives the team their 4th BA. Whether they choose to leave one as a spare for the main series & still run one AU for Denyer & have Canto drive the BA could be another possibility, that's if they have any AU's left as they were advertised in various Motorsport magazines 3 or 4 months ago for sale. If they have been sold or not I don't know, but running 4 BA's would have to be the only option if they truely want to be competitive in both series..

Where are you getting your information from???

And will the team be know as Westpoint racing??? How do the die hard DJR fans feel about DJR being know as Westpoint racing & not Shell racing??

Joe, I don't particularly care who the naming rights sponsor is & with Shell still heavily involved with DJR for another 3 years I, for one couldn't care if the main sponsor was xyz.

If shell had left DJR & went to another team I would'nt be a happy camper, but they haven't & chose to stay with DJR for another 3 years, if only as a support sponsor.

What us DJR supporters want more than anything else Joe is to see that famous #17 (& #18) back at front of Australian Touring Car Racing in this country & if that means things have to change along the way for that to happen, than so be it..

I think you guys will find that Shell WON'T be heavily involved with DJR at all. The press release appears to be heavily sugar-coated detailing information about DJR that we already know. If you read between the lines, I would not be suprised if the release is implying that Shell is nothing more than a fuel and lubes supplier and is no longer a sponsor as such. I am expecting the cars to carry very little (if any) Shell Helix branding this year. In a roundabout sort of a way, I think Shell has announced they are no longer a sponsor of DJR. Funny also how the release is not from DJR, rather a Shell release posted on the DJR website. Looks like Shell got their version in first!
That being the case, I too do not care who the major sponsor of the team is now. I am first and foremost a DJR supporter and will support the sponsors that support the team. Lets hope they can move further up the field in 2005.
