Earlier in the year we heard from Steve Chalker that DJR had re-signed with Ford, and that renegotiations with Shell were already underway. Has anyone heard anything else?

The new DJ/Shell/Fujitsu TV ad comes at an interesting time.....?!?

Doug, have you heard anymore about this of late? There appears to be a lot of recent speculation with regards to Shell, Fujitsu and Garth Tander.

I don't believe Garth will be at DJR in '05, but I'd love to hear that Shell will be back. Here's hoping we hear some positive news in the lead-up to the enduro's.

Hi Rob, spoke to Chalks on Friday and spent some time there on Saturday - nothing official on either front at the moment but my personal money is on a yellow and white colour scheme for some time yet.

Anyone know when we can expect to hear something re 2005 sponsorship? I read an article in either AA or MN recently entitled "Shell be right mate", where both DJ and SC stated they have an agreement in principle with Shell for another 3 years. My concern is that the 2005 season kicks off in 3 months and there has still been no announcement. Call me a pessimist, but until something is signed on paper there is no agreement. I think Shell will be there, but my tip is reduced support with co-sponsorship from another backer (Super Cheap Auto, Ford Credit?) similar to the Shell-FAI days. I would also like to see Optimax branding on the cars in '05 as the premium unleaded market is really hotting up with agressive campaigns from BP Ultimate and Caltex Vortex. Thoughts?

The silence on this topic is deafening, I was hoping for a big announcement at the creek. One thing I know is the merchandise (Shell) is going dirt cheap, that may be because it is not selling due to bad years or poor products, maybe it's just a whole new line up next year with an associate sponsor and new colours etc, I just hope we hear sooner rather than later, the season is over maybe now they can unveil the Shell/Ford Credit Falcons, any news would be good. P.S. How do you get in the inner clique of this so called club to get the guided tour at the mountain(must be a club within a club).[B)]

Maybe I should let Mitchell answer this, but there was an offer to meet at Bathurst so that everyone could get together prior to the tour and sort out numbers and so on. I waited with Mitchell for 30 minutes and no-one turned up, not a soul. [xx(]

This is the first year of Club 17, and I'm sure the boys will get things running smoother for 2005. From what I've seen Steve Chalker and DJR are very supportive of Club 17. [^]

If the word from a Conrod post is correct Seto said Ford Credit is staying with FPR. Does this mean Shell are keeping full commitment to DJR or is there another associate sponsor we dont yet know about, assuming once again from one of the other forums Super Cheap money is going to PWR. I certainly hope the silence from DJR is not due to last minute hitches. I might just gamble on some of the cheap merchandise still on offer and hope Shell stay around. They say no news is good news but I am having trouble believing that.

On the Bathurst tour...

... It all came together very late, and Tony Mee (DJR's PR guy) only gave us a limited amount of spots... We were forced to pick the top 5 or 6 most frequent posters on the forum, simply because there wasn't enough time to come up with an alternative...

The truth is, boys... Although the team are supportive, they don't actually offer any 'support'... I run the site (on my own), and Keith looks after everything else... We don't have a budget, and we're doing our best...

(There was this bloke called Doug that used to help out... Do'nt know where he went, though )

However, I did talk to Chalks' at Eastern Creek, briefly, and he is definitely keen to get things rolling now that the season is over, and I'm out of school...

Hmm - a bloke that used to "help out!" (hehe) He went off and had a rather private nervous breakdown, however he will be adding posts from time to time.

He is extremely grateful to mitch for carrying the site onwards and upwards, also to beejay - nice to see it going well.

Thank you rob, not sure how "back" I am yet - it's been a rough few months - but looking forward to the new year and some good results from the team.
