What a dismal day for DJR, the only thing worse than their performance today was the coverage. As Yap said hard to tell who else was racing besides the top six cars.

Interesting sentence from Malcolm on Facebook.

“It sounds lame and a bit wishy-washy, but the fact is when you can’t run simulation packages you’ve got to man up and accept you’re going to have the odd weekend like that.”

That's why I put it up Yap.
I'm assuming it's some sort of computer program but I could be waaaay off.
I was also wondering if it's a very expensive toy that only the likes of 888 can afford.

I mentioned this today to our train simulator tech guru and he tells me that there very complex simulation programs available that can take into account the way track conditions change in relation to ambient temp and wind speed and direction changes. Apparently they can measure track surface abrasiveness in changing temperatures and then calculate tyre wear according to how much tyre pressure they use. There are many parameters that these types of programs can utilize and I believe that they can run a simulation over a full race distance taking into account car set up and driving style. How many teams are currently using this is not clear but I reckon 888 is one of them. I am certainly no expert on these things so I can only go off what the guru says.[sh]

Was at the island on the weekend and it was very painful watching the 2 jim beam cars went down to the pits and did my pit tour they were throwing everything at the cars was told they were struggling with their tyres.

Someone needs to let Swetnam know that T8 don't use any form of simulation software and never have.

They managed to get on just fine at Phillip Island.

Get the facts and forget the excuses Malcolm. [tsk]

Also why didn't DJR take the safety car pitstop when almost every car in the field took it ???????

oh well....

Bring on Bathurst !! Johnson is in great form, time for a podium ! [y]

Looks like Sandown is on its way back to where it should be, The round before Bathurst. Should never have gone to PI in the first place, Its not much of an endurance track. The less laps DJR have to do around Circuit 'de Linfox the better.

Where in that quote from Malcolm does he name 888 as the team who is running "simulation packages".

Just a conclusion from some members of the public that automatically think because 888 have the money (budget) that they would have it or use it. Just my thoughts.

As for Johnson winning Bathurst.......BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
