Be interested to hear who you blokes reckon is the most over rated driver of today or days gone by. For me, its undoubtedly Max Wilson. He is a great qualifier, no doubt, but I cant count the times he has been in a decent position to throw it all away with some dumb mistake, sometimes bad luck admittedly. His car this year is competetive, but you could chuck him in Ambroses car, and I doubt he'd be in the top 15 at years end. Id love him to get a ride with Holdens next year...

Actually I didn't think Max was that bad, I still think if he had stayed another year in the DJR fold he could have blossomed this year, especially after his excellent drive to 3rd in the wet at EC last year, but he decided he wanted to leave and go to 888 which has proved to be the wrong decision for him but thats not our problem is it? Besides that I think Henry's list is pretty much on the money & you could probably add Yoong to his list..

Certaintly not trying to driver bash as you put it, if you like re-phrase it to which drivers arent living up to expectations of their ability and what there car is potentially capable of. Rob, Im at work and dont have the stats on me, but check out how many times Max has finished in the top 20. Very, Very rarely for the amount of starts and the decent cars he has been in.

Very true Pete, but at the end of last year I thought he was coming to grips with the DJR Ford. He just seems to have gone down hill big time again this year. Just my thouhts Pete..

I dont really care... I just feel like it's my responsibility to say stuff like that, now :D

'Drivers Not Living Up To Expectation' sounds much better, though...

Out of the current V8 drivers i would have to say Radisich, Rick Kelly,Weel,Dumbrell,Wilson
From the past.
Bob Jane just had the biggest bank balance and just bought whatever was fastest at the time, when no one else could afford it.
Tom Walkinshaw
Vern Schuppan
Tomas Mezera

That changes EVERYTHING on my list!
Radisich's form in the V8's hasn't correllated with the form he once showed overseas, and even against some of his Group A drives... I don't believe that he lacks talent or courage or anything, but the results haven't come

Besnard still has to develop a tactical brain to temper his natural speed,

Todd Kelly, suffers in comparison to his brother and team mate

As for the others I listed originally, Brock DID walk on water for a long time, but I think he is verging on sullying his reputation by coming back so often...but that's up to him

Skaife is a multiple champion in several disciplines and a multiple Bathurst winner, so how much expectation could you place on him?

And I don't know how much expectation is placed on Weel

Lowndes, success from day one, could have won more championship in 1997, now the only win I can remember form the kid is winning a race in Adelaide with Gibson Motorsport.

We should not understimate Bowe but I think ever since he left DJR his results drop a little due to the level of competition.

Gday Big Col, bit harsh on R.Kelly. Even though he still enjoys a good cry and talks like a peanut, I reckon he outshines his bro. Great in the wet too.

While Lowndes' results since he left HRT haven't been the best, really if you weren't in an HRT car, or SBR for the last two years, you weren;t in the hunt (with the possible exception of KRT)

...and considering the size of the Jones boys operation, JB hasn't done too bad either

I agree with Mitch - not the place to "bash" the drivers -I don't see any of our names appearing on the entry list this year.
However, I will say that the guy that has really disappointed me was Cromley(neil crompton). He was absoulte magic on the Mountain, and quite analytical as well, but during his Tickford and 00 stints in the main series he hardly set the world on fire. Wonder Why?

Howdy Pete,
I actually rate Todd better than Rick.
Being Skaife's number 2 is never an easy task.He is renowned for going through team mates.
Ever since Skaife took over the number 1 duties at HRT we have seen the departure of Craig Lowndes and Jason Bright
I don't personally believe Todd get's to much say in what he wants in the cars.
Lets face it the HRT have been far from good this year.So i think that Rick out doing Todd is because the Kamrt cars were probably a better race package, and besides he doesn't whine like a stuffed pig every time he opens his mouth
