Hey Ross

The plan is to take a few of the cars to Lakeside on the 7th & 8th of August. They are running an event with historic cars that weekend. This will most likely be our last chance to run a couple of the cars before the event at the Gold Coast in October. The plan is to take the Bond Coupe and maybe Tru Blu if the engine is back together in time.

Cheers
John
See you there!

looks like no ones got any money, several others looked like they went lower than expected too.

I have to say that mustang is probably the least favourite car of Dick's to me, but If I won the lotto I'd be all over it. [crackup]

I s'pose if I ever bought a ticket , . . . . . . . . [help]

Three cars confirmed from the Bowdens stable at this stage. Colin Bond #2 Coupe is ready for another run. KB's Camaro has had an overhaul of the front end, so KB wants to give it a run before the Gold Coast event. Also, Chris is going to take his wap wap wap wap Rotary RX7 for a burn. This car is the Tokico Tony Mulvhill RX7 and it is very noisy and scary fast too.

I am planning to go on the Sunday at this stage. See you all there if you are planning to come along.

More info here if you are interested in what else is coming along.

Dunno when to go! Was thinking Sunday, but it might be best to do Staurday in case the good toys get broken early!

We always knew that the Bond Coupe was going to be a problem complying with noise limits, but we were hoping to a get a lap or 2 in before the officials got stroppy. I expect that Dan has thought better of it and decided not to take it to Lakeside. The 78 Brock / Richards A9X will get a run instead at this stage.

The B&H Sierra also has a new set of tyres, so hopefully it will get some traction and really hook up out there. When we had it at QR on the old tyres, it was spinning the wheels in all the gears down the main straight! Looked and sounded awesome, but Chris was crapping himself every time it broke loose. It is a handful to say the least. The weird thing about that Sierra is that when it is sitting at idle, it sounds standard, not even cammy like the DJR Sierras. But by crikey, it has a fairly large set of gonads when the loud pedal is squeezed.

I will be there on Sunday, so come and say hello if you are planning to make the trip out.

Cheers
John

My plans have changed and I won't be going on Sunday now. Bugger. I have been offered some work and I need the money right now, so I am out sadly.

Cheers

In the name of a level playing field (the kidlets have conflicting and busy schedules), I will be attending both days.

That is all.

Well not really.

Did anyone go to Lakeside today? Dan is planning to take Greens Tuf for a run this weekend now, but I am not sure if it is going to be there both days or only tomorrow.

AWESOME!

Yeah, I was there today - what a great day! Number One Son had a ball. We were having a brief chat with Chris B during the arvo and the young fella was stoked... he was so excited to be able to tell his mum that a Real Race Driver talked to him!

The A9X and the Camaro both ran out of juice during their demo laps, Richo seemed to be having a BALL in the 635, but is spending tomorrow in the Ashwood GTR... he did take one of his Porsches for a run this arv too!

The Trans-Am cars gave me a HORN...

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Sunday

I could only make it out for a few hours today & should have left earlier as cars were qued back to the main Road ( And for once I wasn`t complaining ) I actually had a quiet smile to myself with plenty of past memories to cherrish. I started to feel a bit angry that all of the motoracing people & there was alot there that are not allowed to utalise this venue more often. Lakeside was looking a million bucks and the weather was spot on. There was plenty to look at and keep you entertained throughout the inside of the track. During the lunch break for about half an hour the track was compleetly covered where ever you looked with a variety of cars from Fj`s to Gt`s to camaroes, Fc Xa`s Mustangs, utes & sedans....Top day for 20 bucks.
Shame about the XC Coupe of Bowdens not being there but!!!!!!!![rt]

The two GTR Skylines were OK but never did do much for me, Stand out was the #25 Sierra that looked like it was hooking up pretty good but the driver ran out of puff about half way through the race and went from a close 2nd to a distant something. (I think it was KB ) Absolutly loved the Anderson Bros Mustang..

The Trans - Am cars were plenty and put on a great show! Why couldn`t they run around with the Group A`s??

It was another phenomenal day today. Treble the crowd from yesterday for starters... sprung a very happy-looking Chris Bowden after the Shannons Demo.. I don't think you could've taken the smile off his face with an angle grinder. AWESOME!
