Steve Johnson will again suit up for the 2011 Bathurst 12hour race with Nathan Tinkler and v8 Utes driver Jeremy Gray in an FPV GT Falcon.

Be nice if it was a brand-spanker Maq, The Lowndes driven Audi will run away with it this year, It will be a matter of by how many laps [drive]

My brother is down there this weekend on the pitcrew for his mate Roger Lago in car #23, Falcon Property Group Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car, 7th fastest overall and 1st in his class. Hope these results last for the rest of the weekend. This car was the one on speedcafe that was driven on the road from Milton in Brisbane during the floods to get to higher ground.

My bad, I did not scroll all the way down [crackup], To be truthfull Audi Team Joest and the GT Spec Porsches are going to be cursing the Prodution cars all day long.
The closing speeds are just massive at the chase, And they are getting bailed up around the top.
For safety most GT spec cars are running HID yellow lights for the 6.15am start.

David Russell is driving this car. Webby's co-driver last year. Watch out for this entry. Good chance of class win and podium result.

I'll be watching with interest tomorrow and hoping for a good result for #23, 12 hours is a long time so I'll have my fingers crossed.

Just an update from being up there to watch the start, Tinkler put the Falcon into the tyres at Murrays at about the 2.5hr mark, After Steve done the first stint.
They pulled it out and its still truckn' around.

Thanks for that Dave, absolutly enjoyed watching the last one & a half hours and just as well i didn't find it earlier otherwise i would still have three quaters of an acre to mow! Would have been good to log in and have a chat as well but will keep an eye out for it next year.

What other motor sports do they do? Do you know

That was a good race with heaps of potential for more euro teams to come over so more of our v8 guys could get a run. Awsome....I enjoyed the commentry with commenting on the number of streamers and interaction etc, really good! [sc]

Now that the Europeans have come and won, I think word of mouth is going to spread like wild fire. I would not be surprised at all if this thing in a few years time becomes a huge race on the international calendar, perhaps as big as the 1000.

Hope your right mate, after Holden and their "Monaro" stuffed the 24hr, as you say this could become a great international event.

The thing with the Monaro was that it was a GT car running around with production cars. I was opposed to it then, but if they want to bring them back now that there is some fair competition, be my guest, we may even see that they really were'nt that good.

If the organisers of this event spend some money and play their cards right, I can see teams from Europe and the US bringing their cars over here. I just don't know about 12hrs, may have to make it a 24hr race to make it worth while to make the effort.

This event could be another Spa, Nurburgring, or Daytona 24hr race. LeMans? I think that event may always stand alone.
