Thank Doug and thanks to the DJR rep for setting things straight - the devil in the detail got some of us again.

As for the discounts, almost all vendors offer discounts on the normal sell price, not the marked down special, so as much of a bitter pill that it is, I understand the re-pricing of the model cars up from the low prices offered earlier too.

Feed back to the fans is as good as ever.
Cheers DJR.

So are we or are we not, re-auctioning the top 18 in 2008 ?

I think this is the thank you letter they are refering to ,it was titled . . . From ; Race Shop
Subject; DJR TEAM MATES - TEST DAY

Hey Mate,

Just thought you?d like a heads up that Dick Johnson Racing is hitting the track for the very first time in 2007.

On Monday 19th February, we?ll be taking the new #17 Jim Beam Racing Falcon out to Queensland Raceway to put it through its paces, and to let Steve and Will get some laps in to blow off the cob webs and so we know they are really ready another test day on Friday 23rd February.

We won?t be doing any formal team activities at the track, but like all test days, you are able to get a bit closer to the pit area than you would at many race meets, plus most of the other teams will be out there so there will be plenty to watch.

We?ll be sure to get some images up on the web site after the test day. Speaking of which, don?t forget we are launching the all new DJR web site on 23rd February, including your very own members? section.

Nice to have you as part of the team ? Thanks Mate!

I had a minor problem with my Team Mates Membership when the site first started up. The level of service from DJR was excellent. After I contacted them they looked into it straight away. Sue, who I believe is looking after all the Members even called me from her home on the Saturday to try and fix the problem. Lyn from the race shop was also very helpful and was happy to chat about how the team was going out at the test day on the Friday.

I received a call from Sue on Wednesday of this week to check that everything was all right and see if they could help with anything else, as well as some insight into the morale of the team after the weekend and their expectations for further improvement in the cars. I couldn't be happier. Thankyou to Sue and Lyn for the time they gave me on what must have been an extremely busy week.

Well I have to say I am a little disappointed. I sent them an email regarding the forum membership on the 23rd Feb and still haven't got a response. I just fired another one off so I will see what happens this time.

my mummy works at the local Ford dealership so i always get my merchandise at wholesale prices. It's great. Every February she brings me the DJR merchandise booklet and i just circle what i want.. I never end up saving any money, mind you. Because it's cheaper, i just buy more..

This year's stuff is okay. The Cap is great, and the fleece jumper, but the replica polo is a bit boring..

Nothing will ever beat the Tri-Colour Shell Helix Racing shirts we had a few years back (The Yellow, Blue, and Red ones) I still wear it to the track more often then my Westpoint/Club17/First Rock gear.. I just really hope to god that Jim Beam stick around for a few years because i'm sick of feeling obligated to buy new merc every year.

You guys reckon you've got worries...haha...a week before Symmons Plains I took over the care of a Maltese Terrier, whose owners didn't want him round anymore...anyway I drive (or used to drive) my pride and joy, a 1972 3.5 V8 Mercedes in mint condition...OH NO..I went to the local for a drink with Billie (dog) on board and the next thing I saw was my beautiful CLASSIC heading down the car park and Smack Bang into the rear of the pub..a lot of damage to my girl and to top it off, Billie gave himself such a fright he pooped on the front seat...not only replacing the Americana headlight and guard...when I thought I had that all sorted, I blew the transmission...and so now I'm driving a bomb (Holden Camira) with no brakes..and missing my V8..He caught his lead and wacked her into neutral and I'd forgotten to handbrake her...booohoohoo.my gorgeouse car..I poor too after that little effort..still waiting...[B)]

Hi Guys and Girls, looks like DJR are taking an interest in us - I received this email regarding this topic and wanted you to see it - explains things alil methinks:

You've known us long enough to know we welcome all feedback, good and bad, so for your sake, I thought I'd clear a few things up by responding to some of the comments in the "DJR Membership" thread...

Firstly, I really want to make it clear that the Top 18 Team Mates, along with all foundation members, will actually pay less than new (2008) members from 2008 onwards to renew their membership, as a reward for being a foundation member, and the 2008 fee for EVERYONE will be a LOT less than $199. And of course we made it clear that each membership (like every other team's membership club) is for 12 months.

Regarding contact with Team Mates - every Team Mate (Top 18 or otherwise) was sent a confirmation email, then a Thank you email from Dick, and a couple more regarding their membership - if a Team Mate hasn't received any e-mails from us, it is because the email address they provided is incorrect or invalid (which as you know accounts for over 10% of all email addresses collected), or they have over-zealous spam filters which have blocked our emails.

As the Top 18 Team Mates were mentioned, it is important to note that EVERY TOP 18 member was e-mailed and/or telephoned constantly over a two week period to try and make contact with every one. If anyone knows of a Top 18 Team Mate who hasn't heard from DJR, they must be hiding from us!

As for the DJR forum, it was originally going to be for Team Mates only, because as a lot of your forum users would remember in 2006, the DJR forum was often reduced to a slinging match between a small group of users, and getting off topic was the norm in many threads. Nevertheless, we did not wish to cut off fans so we have kept it open to all... we decided this prior to going live, but the web guys couldn't make the changes to the back end until after we launched. As far as the use of nicknames vs real names on the forum, this has been addressed and is being resolved.

With our new online store, the pricing issue we had was everything went live ex GST. This was a simple input oversight which, as I understand, corrected itself at the checkout. Any changes to prices have not been us "bumping up the prices", it has been the addition of GST - We are just finishing these updates (a bit sad to see comments on the forum saying we are trying to rip off our supporters).

Mate, I am more than happy to take the wrap for any bugs we are ironing out of the new web site and the Team Mates club, but you know that there ain't a single person in the team who hasn't been working literally around the clock for the past 3 months to make sure we were ready for 2007.

At the end of the day, DJR has always provided fans with more access and info than just about any other team, and that's not going to change. DJR Team Mates is simply adding a new level of support for those who want it.

OK so theres the goss from DJR - hope it helps to end any speculation??

Cheers to all of you,

Doug and Charli

The hair might be gone by the time Eastern Creek comes around after 15 years.
