Winton tips

  • 1. "Your knowledge and input is always welcome but please respect the team, the drivers and other members. Abuse or harsh criticisms will not be tolerated".

    2. "This forum is designated 'Family Friendly' - (ie. we have young & impressionable readers - even if they're not Members/Posters) - therefore language must be moderated! - (how would YOU feel about YOUR 9 year old reading it?)

    3. "Use of characters (eg. #$*@!) that only 'partially' disguise an intended vulgar/offensive word(s) is unacceptable!
If you MUST express yourself in such a manner... use ***** and let the reader's imagination 'fill in the blanks'."

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Winton is good at springing the odd surprise. I am prepared to go for someone like Steve Johnson, Bargs or Paul Dumbrell.

We had good pace down there a few years go, didnt we? Little Maxi-pad Wilson qualified on the second row, or something?

Beejay and I are travelling down for the day.. 6 hours there and 6 hours back... crazy, huh

Good job Mitch and Beejay! I don't think it's crazy at all :D
I think DJR will be strong at Winton. So far this year, we have seen that their power-down out of slow corners has been great as has cornering speed in slow to mid-speed corners...plenty of these at Winton.
Expect Steven Richards to set the pace, with GT, HRT and Lowndsie all being quick.
Also expect some wildcards in terms of the weather and the reverse grid race 2. It looks like rain this weekend, and mixed with r2, this should provide some real entertainment [:p]

Expecting a better run from Will this weekend. This is one of the tracks that he knows.

Ran in 2004, only completed 1 lap of 100 but had over 70 laps in practice and qualifying. Not much I know, but it's a better starting point than W.A.

Sorry tips for Winton
It'll be about 40 below f@#king freezing
By lunch time it mught reach 10 degrees
Murphy to trundle along mid pack only to get the sh!ts and punt some one off saying he'd do it all again and then go around the outside of some one and hit a wall

Well at least we'll be OK if it gets dark at the end of the racing with all those high beams...
