Just one I've gotta share, given the non-event that the Supertaxis were in 2006...

Went to the speedway in Grafton last Saturday night... best night of motorsport I'd seen for two seasons!

The juniors went nuts, the Modified feature was epic, and the Limited Sprinters were hilarious - imagine a handful of old sprintcars with rorty old Red motors, all getting more tired by the lap, through three or four heats... by their final, the leading car was running on five, and sounding VERY unhealthy.. and still pulling a length a lap until it threw a leg out of bed and spun on its own entrails, taking out a couple of the others... they circulated under the yellow for that long that nobody had a clue who was leading, so they sent them to green and waved the chequer at the car that was blowing the least smoke...

A fantastic night, and I'm a speedway convert, despite sitting amongst some of the scariest and seediest specimens I've seen outside a Bela Lugosi film. Love regional grass-roots motorsport! I know what's happening with my unreg'd TX3 now!

I havent been to the speedway for a few years but usually not a bad nights racing - I DO know what you mean about the "seedy specimens" though - I hope you weren't caught staring at them![:0]:D
