Question for diehard DJR fans!!

  • 1. "Your knowledge and input is always welcome but please respect the team, the drivers and other members. Abuse or harsh criticisms will not be tolerated".

    2. "This forum is designated 'Family Friendly' - (ie. we have young & impressionable readers - even if they're not Members/Posters) - therefore language must be moderated! - (how would YOU feel about YOUR 9 year old reading it?)

    3. "Use of characters (eg. #$*@!) that only 'partially' disguise an intended vulgar/offensive word(s) is unacceptable!
If you MUST express yourself in such a manner... use ***** and let the reader's imagination 'fill in the blanks'."

Sorry SF, this counts you out as your going to be way to baised (just like me)...

With 5 rounds down (include AGP) are DJR fans happy with Dick's choice with regards to Seto.. Do you believe Seto has & will take DJR back to the top. Or is jnr still your main man so to speak?? Or does Dick still need to make driver line up changes to get DJR back to the top..

Remember we are all batting for the same team (well, with regards to V8's we are...... "Not that there is anything wrong that" :D ), so be nice!!!

definatly, with the seto has driven at a few rounds this year (Adelaide in particular at the end of race 1) dick has made the right desicion, i think Both Jnr and seto have what it takes, it is just that fact of who will get there first.

Seto is a big name and has stacks of experience under his belt came runners up at Bathurst God knows how many times. Junior beats Seto this year as far as championship points is concerned because I believe age plays a part here.

Seton isn't just valuable for his driving (which is still among the best) but also for his input into the development & setup of the cars. I also think he will be a good influence on Steve as he will push him all the way & also Glenn's experience will help Juniour learn more about setting the cars up & being a better driver in general

The team's going in the right direction.... forward. I would still argue that "we" need a gun, but there aren't too many of those about, and "we" need to show a bit more potential to attract them. Still, it's not all bad being a hopeless DJR supporter...

Agree with all the above comments..

As Henry said, DJR are moving in the right direction & a lot of that has been a result of Glenns technical imput, & the inclusion of some very clever technical people at DJR...

Glenn Seton has come to DJR with the missing pieces.

Since the departure of John Bowe the team has struggled to not so much to set up the cars but to do it quickly. The cars usually have enough pace come race time but it has taken all of practice and qualifing to get it right, resulting in the cars starting the race with a lot of traffic to work through and an increased risk of an incident. This isn't to say that Dick couldn't set up the cars after Bowe left, just that Dick, as the team principle didn't have the luxury of being able to focus on just the cars. Glenn Seton may be a veteran of the sport and a 10th or two slower than 10 years ago but he is just what DJR and Jnr have needed.

Jnr is still the main man to stand atop the podium, but Glenn will be an essential part to getting him their.

In answer to your question Joe. "Dick, don't change a thing!"

I believe that with the right equipment, Steven is a true championship contenter. At present, the DJR cars are still wanting for a couple of tenths, especially in qualifying. That being the case, I think Glenn holds the key. It will take time for Glenn's imput to be visible in on track results as it takes time for everyone in the team to gel, and I expect DJR to be right on the money by Sandown.
I think Junior is definitely the main man, but Dick's signing of Seto was the absolute right move as the team really needed an experienced campaigner to consolidate. Glenn has been extremely unlucky this year, and when the cards do eventually fall his way, he is a definite podium contender. I just hope Steven is back in 2006 to allow the team to maintain some stability and consistency which is the key ingredient that has been missing over the last 3 years.

I believe the best drivers available are in the cars. It will take Seton a while to settle in but when he does he will be right on the pace. Remember DJR is still in a rebuilding phase and I think by the end of this year and into next year we will see a major move up the grid from both drivers.

Seton is still a great driver and just needs a bit more time to settle in at DJR. Won't be long now!!
