Damn, there goes another $200

Just a question - when did Dick start using the DJR logo (as used on the stands for these bonnets)

The logo's been a work in progress since the days of Dick Johnson Automotive and the LJ XU-1. The current logo retains elements of the old DJA logo, which evolved into the DJR stuff seen in the early 80's.

Thanks for that Henry

My question was sort of relating to that if they weren't using that logo when those cars were around on the track, then the logo they have used wouldn't be historically correct

But I was just splitting hairs really :)

I was down at DJR this morning picking up my 84 XE bonnet and Cameron told me that they had just received a new shipment of 1:18th Biantes today. They are the 1993 EB John Bowe ATCC winner and the 1981 XD Tru Blu ATCC winner.

Cheers
John

Very nice 79Maq

What's the EB like in the flesh- quality, stance etc...? looks good in the pics.
Can't beleive what a clean and uncomplicated race car they were, it only seemed like yesterday but it's been 17 years!!!

I'm still waiting on the '94 Bathurst winner, that will be the only 1:18 EB I'm buying (i.e:- the only one the 'higher authority' will allow me to buy)[rt]

Exciting news

OK, time to put you out of your misery, and Brad, yes you are the winner, no unfortunately you didn't win anything.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are pleased to announce the 2010 Jim Beam Ford FG Falcon's in 1:10th Scale.

Release follows:

BIANTE GO LARGE

Biante Model Cars are extremely excited to announce the latest addition to its ever expanding range of collectable model cars and this one will really exaggerate the senses - the Ford FG Falcon V8 Supercar in 1:10th scale.

Not content with modelling the FG to the highest of industry standards in 1:18th, Biante are looking to set the bar even higher with the introduction of this monster of a model.

Shown below, sitting behind its 1:18th sibling, the 1:10th scale FG Falcon is a closed body example of our latest FG tooling.

Sitting at just over 50 centimeters in length, this FG Falcon is delivered with full racing interior, full undercarriage detail and photo etched parts throughout.

Tooled around the latest Dick Johnson Racing Ford FG Falcons, the first two examples to be produced will be the #17 Steven Johnson and #18 James Courtney 2010 V8 Supercar Championship Series cars.

With expected delivery in October 2010 and limited to 20 units of each car, with numbered Certificates of Authenticity, these will be highly sort after collector’s items. Coupled with a suggested retail price of $2995 inc GST, they are very reasonably priced for a model of this magnitude.

The image below shows the prototype sitting inside the 1:10th scale display case that is shipped with the model and included in the price.

Funny, I thought considering the amount of work in tooling and set up and then to finish off a model this big the number of units would be at least 100 to make it pay off, and I was expecting them to still be around ten times the price of a model about one tenth the physical size and with way less detail, so 3k, is actually cheap if you have the cash, . . . .me, i got nothing.

The pricing on those is ridiculous ($3000 ), its just too much (even though they are only making 20 of each)

Just got off the phone from Sue at DJR and she has said they will more than likely be around $3500 and that the doors, bonnet etc. won't open due to the weight of the things.
