well some of you might know that on the djr forum, I had a thread titled bjr22n racing.

I have been racing at one of Wagga's local indoor Go-Kart centre, In the 12 months it has been open I have acheived the following:

500 lap endro race - 2nd (team bjr racing) set Fastest lap 21.14 (still stands, however track has been changed and not on their board)
500 lap endro race - 1st (team sexual Chocolate)
500 lap endro race - 1st (team Top gear racing)
monthly Individual champion - May 2006
2 times Terminator Champion
2nd place in yearly Individual Champion (kart had flat tyre)

I was able to have a drive in the weekly business comp for team hertz racing:
Team Championship season 1 - overall champions (Won a trip to the F1 Melbourne all expenses paid)
Team Championship season 2 - Overall Champions (Won a trip to race a V8 supercar at eastern creek)

Hertz racing have split and 3 out of the 4 drivers didn't want to take part in the current championship.
This Championship only runs for 6 weeks, but doesn't have the Major prize unlike championships before.

So I have joined a new team, BSC Motion Tech. with the inclusion of my younger brother Brad. While in between seasons, I took the time and spent the money to tech brad the track and learn to feel the Kart... I think I have taught him to well, because he is now 0.2 of a second quicker than me.[}:)]

anyways, we raced last night and well within the 3 races we were able to secure 1st 2nd and 3rd, with out anchor 5th in all 3 races.

While racing the second race against a lower team, they shortened the track for us, by pushing the tyres back, Brad capitalised on this opportunity and was able to post a very quick time of 21.97. The centre manager made a bet with Brad that he wouldn't be able to post that time again after he had straighten the track and put it back into place and in the same Kart... Race 3 Brad posted a 21.98 in the same kart. The manager was shocked and paid his dues. [8D]

stay tuned more next week;)

Just had a look on the draw, and it looks like we are racing against the top team. it will be a tough battle, but they have been luck as they haven't raced against us or the second place team yet, they have had to contend with the slower teams which has given them the points and put them on top. but I am confident that we will walk away with the victory, as they have yet to impress me.
here is a link to our championship situation...

Well I can say I was disappointed at last nights racing. The 1st race of 3, and the other team doesn't show up. So we race each other, and I let Brad win to boost his individual points, while I came second. The kart I had was very slippery and navigating though the sweeper the rear of the kart was steping out, I clipped the tyre wall on some occations.

Race 2 saw us race against 'the dream team'. who were sitting in 1st place of the team championship. while racing, I was coming into turn 1 on lap 3, the kart infront decided it would be fun to play dodgem karts instead, leaving room big enough for a bee's d*#k, he spun out and I had no were to go. so I had to race this race with bent steering... but i guess thats racing. I noticed the tactics this team were using was to shorten the track via pushing the tyres allowing them to short cut the corners and gain an advantage. before the track was push out of place Brad posted a 22.04 while the other team short cutting the corners were only able to post a 22.05 and 22.09. I came 4th in this race with a 22.25 before I was tagged. I beleive I could have gone alot quicker as the kart had alot of grip and felt quick. Our teams somehow came out equal on points sharing 18 points each from that race.

Race 3, saw us face off against the same team. the officals noticed there was someone short cutting the corners and they decided to watch over this race closely. The tactics had changed and saw their times reduce and no reckless driving which was displayed in the last race. Brad posted a very respectable 22.08 with the kart I raced in the race before, but was repaired in between our races. I came second with a 22.23 as the kart had grunt along the straights but no mid corner grip, while the best time they could post was a 22.46.

this is our championship situation, Brad is 3 points behind in the individual championship with one week to go.

ok, so last night was the last night of the competion. we have a break for 1 week, then a practice round, then back on for the Competion.

Racing was close, we needed to gain 5 points to take 2nd place in the championship after 2 of our drivers didn't show up in the first week, we where strugling early in the championship. My little brother brad need to gain 4 points to take the individual champions.

Last night saw close racing action. with our 1st of 3 races saw a small challenge from the other team, it was short lived as Brad and I posted 1-2 on the board. with .02 of a second separating 3rd place to 5th place. Our team scored 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th.

Race 2 - Brad coasted around with ease and post a very respectable time early in the race, which saw him take 1st place. While I was in cruise mode, I forgot that I was on the track... when I saw the board I was in 4th place... Argh! So I put my foot down and managed to claw back to 3rd place. Our team scored 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Race 3 - With the energy from a chocolate bar, saw extreme close racing, Brad and I were battling it out lap for lap. the Roof lifted when Brad posted a 22.29 then he posted a 22.13 and the croud were estatic. untill I flew around with a 22.02. there was silence. a few laps later Brad eclipsed my time only by .004 of a second. below is the time sheets.
Our team scored 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Time sheet of first place to last place

Look how close it was .004 of a second.

we were able to knock off 'the dream team from 2nd place and we were 21 points off First place Champions. Brad closed the gap only to be beaten by 1 point for the individual championship. There is now a weeks brake to prepare for the new competion and keep tuning in, with weekly updates.

cheers
ben
