Can't say i'm overly impressed with the times.

Considering all practice and qualifying last year they were into the 10's at QR and running low 11's in the race's.

Looks like another long year coming up

Excellent news, thanx George for the info. Times seem a bit slow though so I wonder if the reduced front aero on the BF has made that much difference..

Any times from Will in #17??

Col, i definately think the smaller front splitter will have a dramatic effect on the lap times. We need to get some times from the Holdens at Winton and hopefully they are a little bit slower then last years times as well.

But hey, you can only be the fastest on the day...good start. Its must be the fact that SJ is 15kg lighter then previously

Thats definitely part of it, Steve has done a great job.

The track had very little grip, Willowbank is bit like Phillip Island in that the grip varies an aweful lot from temperature & what has been running there before.

Thats not too bad for this time of year, I wouldn't expect to make it into the 10's until some more cars have run & it's cooler. We'll be looking to break the DJR lap record there at a test April, if not the one before Willowbank.

At the end of the day your benchmark is the other teams running there, and we were quite happy with the result of what was basically a shakedown test.

awesome thanks, last one i only spent 2 hrs there and missed some good photo op's as some of the other cars came out.

also, is it ok to take photos from the wall along pitlane? i have seen others photos which are taken from here, or do you have to have special permission?

You can take photos from wherever you like, as the teams hire the track for the test days there are no officials telling you where you can and can't go. You can go into the pits and onto pit wall if you like, you just have to be aware you don't get in anyone's way and no one seems to mind.
A few of us also go to the marshalling points behind the barriers and take my own chairs and a tarp as well to throw over their frames to give us some shade.

Fordlover, DJR has two tentative test days penned for April 10 and May 28 but these dates are subject to the teams performance in Perth this weekend and may change. They will be confirmed next week.
The remaining test days are scheduled for July 28 and September 6 and will not change. Cheers, Rob :)
