Wilson Security/Dick JohnsonRacing has locked in their full driver line up for the all-important PirtekEndurance Cup. The marquee events at Sandown, Bathurst and the Gold Coast makeup the three race endurance series and Dick Johnson believes the team has theright mix to challenge for results at all three events.

Headlining the driver line upis Steve Johnson’s return in the iconic #17 David Wall driven Wilson SecurityFalcon. After leaving the family run team for the 2013 Endurance Cup, Johnsonwas one of the standout performers in the co-driver ranks and pushed the #9Erebus AMG well up the grid. Determined to keep that momentum going Johnson wasindeed hot property in the co-driver market this year, but with the DJR team onthe up and sponsor Wilson Security recognising the value of Steve, the deal hasbeen inked for Johnson to return to the team.

“Last year was tough for DJR,but personally I felt working in another team did my overall approach anddriving a lot of good. It gave me a different perspective working with newengineers and seeing how another team went about it. I can see that DJR hasalso developed really well since I was last in the car, so it is great to beback with the team.” Steve commented. “I hope now I can bring some real benefitto David and the boys and really help DJR and Wilson Security capitalise on thesupport they have given the team. We head into 2014 in much, much better shapethan last year.” Johnson added.

In the other team car, ScottPye will be joined by Ash Walsh. Walsh was signed to drive with DJR in 2013with Tim Blanchard and their efforts at the Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600were real highlights for the team.

Ash will be shooting for anoutright win in the Dunlop Series and will be race fit once he steps into the#16 DJR car of Scott Pye.

“It’s great to be back with DJRand in the same car!” Ash said. “I can’t thank Dick, Ryan, Steve and Campbellenough for their faith in signing me again. It’s getting so hard for the DunlopSeries guys to get an enduro gig, but to be asked back to drive again is justfantastic. Scotty is a great mate of mine and I am sure we can really do thejob for Wilson Security and DJR.” Walsh added.

The 2014 V8 SupercarsChampionship kicks off at the Clipsal 500 on February 28th.
