Just wondering what the deal with testing is. Can you test at multiple tracks or do you have to nominate one at the start of the year and stick with it.
I was just thinking that teams could benefit from testing at different types of tracks. Also, I know that Mount Panorama can be hired out(at a hefty price). Why don't teams do a test there?

I think the last time i checked the Mount was around $12,000 dollars a day to hire, If i recall correctly AMG were the last to hire the track, But the big obstacle is the residents as they require so much notice before an event.
While on the subject of test tracks, I attended a meeting the other night about a proposed second GP circuit at Bathurst, Which If the N.S.W Government can get off the ground will provide opportnitys for Superbikes, Champcar, etc, to race at Bathurst.
Surely if this gets up and running a V8 supercar team would call Bathurst home!

There is if it's a homologated V8 Supercar!

Not if you build one in the UK and it falls out of a transporter in some UK or European track.

Not saying it has happened but.....

If it has, I mean ever did, there would probably be left over haggis in the back seat floor well [jk] [pk]

What am I missing here? So Walkinshaw did some 'illegal' testing or something...? [:0]

So $12,000 a day to test at Bathurst. What like 3 test days a year? If a few teams split the cost it would potentially be feasible???

I am sure If they put there heads together, Testing at Mt Panorama wouldent be out of the question. They held Media days in the Mid 90's which was organised by Ch7, And they put on 5 grand prize money. It would be a win-win situation I think, V8 supercars to get media coverage for the up coming enduros, 5 grand prize, And valuble testing kms around the best road racing circuit in the world!
