Seto to HRT....what have you done?

1. "Your knowledge and input is always welcome but please respect the team, the drivers and other members. Abuse or harsh criticisms will not be tolerated".

Glenn phoned Price. Price didn't return the call. Skaife offers him a drive, what was Glenn supposed to tell Skaife?? "Can you wait a few weeks until I've exhausted all my options with Ford and Ford teams and THEN I'll get back to you . . . please? Can I use your offer as a back up in case T888 make up their mind or Price flexes some muscle and gets me in with Courtney again? Please Mark? If not, then I'll join your red team.."
As if Mark would tolerate that? If I were Mark I'd tell Seto "look mate, this is a good gig regardless of the red colour, I'm giving you a lifeline here, you either want it or not".
Mark's running a business, not a charity, and Glenn, with limited options from Ford, said "yes" in a bid to race in a fast car at Bathurst.

I'm not thrilled to see my hero in red, but at least Glenn conducts himself with CLASS unlike other team owners who don't fulfill a contract and then declare they can't 'cut the mustard' to the media. That's the difference. Some choose to conduct themselves with professionalism . . . some don't.

And what's even worse than that is wishing another driver violently drives up the backside of another car in a bid to put it in the wall. Geez. All those years fighting for the Ford fans and this is the appreciation he gets? When he was the only car stopping the HRT steamroller. Not even your precious 2-car Shell Team could beat them and yet Glenn's 6-man crew and an EL beats them.

I don't know that anyone really wishes Seto any ill, Stevo... but surely when your time's come, it's time to let go.
It's not like he hasn't had a good run, and once he sold his team, he was always going to be at the moercy of others... and in a fickle business such as motor racing, there's plenty of ruthless and ambition competition ready to pounce on any opportunity, regardless of whoever has to pay the price for their ascention.
Most of us here had to face the prospect of Dick falling off the pace as the 90's rolled on, and from a personal perspective, it wasn't a nice reality to face up to... and truthfully, touring car racing hasn't been quite the same for me since. At least he, as team owner, was able to choose the timing of his retirement, even if he has admitted since, that he probably might've been better-served to have stopped sooner.
Simple fact is, Glenn had driven for three Ford teams in as many years... and arguably three of the better ones. The only better offer he could get on that side of the fence was 888, and I can't imagine them being in a hurry to grab him.
I'd nearly bet that if he didn't have a good mate at the Holden works team, he'd still be waiting for the phone to ring, perhaps to crew the second BJR car... no real slight against the guy, but his time's been and gone.

And as far as Ford go , if Seto is dropping bombshells in a book, Ford will be a55holes if he does poorly with the red car because they didn't provide him with a quality drive , and equally a55holes if he does well because they didn't support him well enough in the past with the winning equipment etc

Stevo, you really are in need of a life transplant. I am sure that NOONE on this site wishes any driver any physical harm(OK Rick Kelly might be an exception!). But a bit of an accident that renders a car usless for the rest of the day is hardly shameful, especially when it is a Holden.
If you think you can come here and bag people and get away with it think again. This is a DJR Fans website so if you don't like the "hospitality", perhaps you should go somewhere that you can feel a little more appreciated.

Really wasn't bagging anyone one out mate. Just don't see the need to bash Glenn Seton on a public forum. Felt like the guy needed some back up. Fairly simple.
No need to get personal with all the "get a life" comments, reality is we're all posting on an internet forum which suggests we're all probably in need of one. So no need to resort to that level.
And now people are hating him about an imaginary book he's supposedly writing where he's potentially going to bag out Ford and hypothetically might mention DJ? Ridiculous. What else? Water levels in our damns are low, I think we should ping Seto for that too.

Yesssss ! of course you're absolutely right there 'Stevo'; us Knuckle draggers shouldn't expect you to actually get a post into context should we, you'll read the first two words and don't bother with the ' go tell it on a Seto forum' part , of course you're bleating here so that probably means there is no Seto forum.
But don't worry , just because this is a DJR forum and we're mostly DJR fans chatting about DJR stuff, don't let that stop you from giving us your expert, knowledge on just exactly who phoned who, when , and word for word transcripts of the conversations between Ford, Seto and Skaife, because you know better than we do.
And if you really want to "back Seton up" by taking a cheap dig at DJR and Dick himself, don't go crying about someone telling you to get a life, Go start a Seto Forum.

This topic as come along way since I last posted!!! I think I learnt along time ago to stop coming to a DJR based fourm & have a go at DJR (I save that for other fourms... JOKING!!).
Seto is now helping Holden Development series teams (helped with testing with Alberto at Winton) instead of Ford ones. And right there is the only problem I have with the whole Seto to Holden. Yes, Seto's not going to set the world on fire behind the wheel anymore, but his not helping the next Ford "star", his helping the next Holden "star". And personal this is why I think Ford should have been chasing him for a signture. But I've said this 100 times already, so I'm off to get myself a life.
BRING ON CLISPAL, I can't wait. Is that classed as a life??

Oh come on. The Seto fans have copped it the worst of the lot of us. Of course, they don't help by being the most rabid fans on the planet, and refusing to concede the day as done
Let's play nice. I'm sure that the folk with a Ford bent aren't too concerned about what Seto's doing, and the Seton Fans have a bit of a divided loyalty thing to think about by the time Sandown rolls around...

Stevo, all Ford fans are welcome here but we are VERY defensive of DJR, as you are of Seto'. As Joe said if you came here and say negative stuff about DJR expect a bit of backlash. If you can handle that then hang around, if it bothers you don't. We won't be bothered either way.
