When DJR introducted the new #17 at Sandown, is was pretty clear & fair to say the new car was a big step in the right direction.. Results inproved instantly with 3rd & Sandwon & close to a podium at Bathurst.. If you count Sandown as RD1 & included the rest on the rounds in the year, jnr is ranked 4th & not too far behind Murf in 2nd!!! Starting to look great for next year, with a new car coming on board for Seto, making both DJR falcons the same for 2005.

Rounds 9 to 13

1 Marcos Ambrose 879
2 Greg Murphy 805
3 Russell Ingall 777
4 Steven Johnson 768
5 Jason Bargwanna 736
6 Craig Lowndes 669
7 John Bowe 666
8 Rick Kelly 646
9 Jason Richards 617
10 Brad Jones 614

That's quite healthy when you look at it that way Joe, but also when you consider how unlucky he was earlier in the 2004 series (Adelaide-taken out in Dumbrell incident & similar situation at Qld Raceway) he could have finished much higher than the creditable 10th that he did achieve..

And if that trend can continue through next year, especially with so many driver and car changes (HMS etc) going on around him, it looks good.

It would be great to see Steve on the podium regularly.
