Whilst Darwin hasn't been overly kind to DJR since the circuits inception in 1998, one of my favourite sites was watching Steve Johnson hose off the Triple 8 car of Craig Lowndes down the straight during the reverse grid race in 2006.

But my best memory was in 2005(?) when both HRT cars didn't front the grid as they both had engine dramas :D

What are yours?

I don't really have one, but that other bloke that used to drive for DJR upsetting a few of them with a bit of forceful driving and then copping the blame for the resulting crash would probably be it for me.

Last lap last corner when Ambrose drove it into a gap that Skaifey didn't even know he was leaving to win the race.

2003 due to budget restraints the Wife suggested we bring our wedding forward from Sept. to June, the week before Hidden Valley.
Due to the fact we were heading of to Darwin on the Tuesday for our honeymoon Qantas upgraded us to business class where we met Victor Bray and his wife.
On the Thursday we caught up with Victor again at a BP Truckstop where he had his burnout car on display, he not only recognised us as "The Honeymooners and as they were starting the car for a demo he asked us to jump in while Ben Bray started it up.
To top it all off Ambrose hosed the opposition to win the round.

I'll go way back to 1999. DJ & the Rat coming back through the field & I can recall going down the main straight together & they passed the Murphy Wynns GMS Commodore either side down the staight. It was an awesome sight, & anyone who can remember the sound those 1999-2000 DJR engines were singing would remember how great those engines were.

It was at that stage in 99 I knew we were going to be strong at Bathurst & we were untill someone had a brain fade........... Thanks Paul!!!!

"Insert horse and carrot here"!

I actually remember that Rob now that you come to mention it. They were awesome in a straight line. Can't wait to see how those DJR donks stack up next week.

Bathurst 99 still hurts me deeply, ask my wife, I was totally devastated that day, ill never forget talking to Paul before he got in for his last stint and saying to him just bring it home mate...

anyway back on topic, no special memories from Hidden Valley for me as we have never won there, hopefully that will change next weekend.

Well honestly what did you expect.

Radisich never had any self control. Courtney's to much like him.

When battling back markers at Bathurst you have to patient. He wasn't.

Another year at Clipsal when he had a brand new car. It was a steaming wreck by the time he was finished with it and it was the fastest car by a mile. The only thing he didn't hit was the saftey car.

Sorry but Radisich at DJR was a disaster

A Couple of years back seeing the SBR car on the back of the tilt tray & hearing them blame DJR. Can`t recall who was in the SBR thing!

Agree bigcol. The Rat was quick but impatient and accident prone. The Clipsal you refer to was 2001 and I was there. In the sat race he was very quick and he hit Murphy to get past, then turned around Skaife to take the lead. His brand new car was smashed in at the front then he clipped the wall coming out of turn 2 and broke the Watts Linkage. In the sunday race he was coming through the field when he clipped LP, broke a tyre valve and put it into the tyres just before the hairpin. In 2002 he put it into the wall at Turn 8 in practice which coincidentally was the beginning of DJR's downhill slide. Then that year he turned around Steve Ellery early into the Bathurst race, then put #17 into the wall at the esses. Courtney reminds me of Radisich so much. Quick with lots of promise, but ultimately impatient and at times "high-risk". Surely Adrian, Dick and Charlie can rid him of this...one can only hope!

I think Ambrose's last corner on Skaifey would be it.
"What's he doing? [:0]
He can't do that! [:0][:0]
I'm winning this race!" [scarf]

"I didn't win." [:I]

"[sa]" said Marcos.

The funny thing about HV and that last corner passing move by Ambrose is that he went to the outside of Skaife a couple of times and Skaifey just edged him out wider and on the last lap he faded to the outside like he had done earlier and then went inside and caught Skaifey out.

I think it might have been the same weekend that RIngall shut the door on him at the start going into turn 1 and Ambrose just shouldered him out of the way

My memories of Hidden Valley are all a bit vague. Have been going since 2006, and am counting the days 'til I head off again for the next round. This should be on the 'must do' list for anyone who has yet to experience top end horsepower. Great weather, races, atmosphere, town, people... the list goes on and on!
