Does anyone have any footage of the 1984 race where that Scottish W*&@$er cops from behind at the start from John Tesoriero after he stalled it on the grid. Funny how his current drivers (Tander & Skaife) have learnt from him when it comes to Bathurst starts.

Thanks for that Henry that has certainly made my day seeing that jerk being punted from behind the same as he does to his drivers.

Sound's not good, but it's there... there was a sotry in the Wheels Brock tribute speical which had extensive Walkinshaw stuff from 1984... good read.

BTW, that Camaro was formerly the Channel 9 car... haow many hits did that car take?
Must be something about Bathurst that makes tossers stall on the grid [dance]

One for the whippersnappers who don't recall Tom Walkinshaw as a driver of some note...

As much as I hate the pr!ck, i grew up on the 80's ATCC's and Bathurst's and believe me that XJS V12 Jag was a beast. Didn't handle for sh!t over the top, had terrible understeer (note lack of turn in into the Dipper and Forrests Elbow) but by jeez that thing flew up and down the mountain. Glad the pr!ck didn't win it and pi$$ed myself when he next raced in 1988 and he shred his rear tyres after a C0ck up in the pits and a mount in the rear suspension failed. Absolute gold [bc]

Then Jumped into Larry's car and absolutely destroyed it by revving the tits off the old 308.

I remember it well, 88 was my first Bathurst at the ripe old age of 12

I remember Quasi, but I wouldn't classify Sir Jack as a tosser either, so my comment still stands :D

Nah, it was Sir Jack. But not his fault. It was that @#$% Holden gearbox that snagged in two gears.

That and the banjo diffs were awful. That's how DJ and Moff could beat Toranas with Hardtops that hadn't seen a decent homologation package since, really, the XA Group C package. Those GM dungheaps couldn't put their power to the ground reliably.

Weren't the 4 speed shifters pi55 weak in the M21 boxes. Recall a few racing cars and road cars with them failing.
Was it a Barry Callahan car or Grice that had gear levers give up mid race and had them replaces with a vise-grip clamped onto the shifter?

Can you shed some light on this Henry?? [sh]

The one they showed during a Bathurst was the Lusty car. Can't remember, but most likely then it was a Group A, which IIRC, allowed using a German 5-speed Getrag homologated just prior to Bathurst '85. Later of course they changed to a Hollinger at some stage.

That is unless the Lustys were short on budget and used the Holden 4-speed.
