Just wondering if the car Scott Pye is racing this weekend in NZ is the same car he raced at the GC? Was the car that crashed at Bathurst repairable and was that DJRTP01 as V8Slueth has it listed as destroyed or was it DJRFG20?

Also wondered what has happened to DJRFG18 after it's crash in 2014 by David Wall at Pukekohe?

Where's formularyan when you need him [sh]

Hopefully he'll be along soon to answer this for you. :)

Got to love Auto Actions headline.

DJR TEAM PENSKE RAN MAN COLOURS IN NZ.

They haven't bloody raced there in this livery yet, a piss weak attempt at a play on words, give yourselves an uppercut.

I'm glad Auto Action RAN with that headline. Black is a MANly colour. A winning colour!

The Bathurst car is a write off. The boys pulled it apart after getting it back from Bathurst and it was bent in too many places so was therefore deemed a write off.

So that leaves us with DJRFG19 and DJRFG20... still curious too what happened to DJRFG18, maybe it was not repairable either.

Will 2016 see us with 4 brand new cars to continue the rotation with the new two car team?

Don't get me started on the chassis numbers. The engineering group in their infinite wisdom continued with the 888 chassis numbers when we started building CoTF cars, not continuing the DJR numbers. [rt]

Noonz' info is spot on. Unfortunately I spoke to him before getting a chance to fill you folks in.

The Bathurst car, DJRTP01, is done and dusted. The car Wall crashed last year at Pukekohe was also destroyed. Neither will race again. Ergo, we have two complete cars, one new shell (DJRTP02) and another new shell (DJRTP03) about to go into build.

Thank you for your reply Ryan... looking forward to SuperCar Life tonight on Foxtel :)

formularyan:

With the confirmation of two new cars being built for next year does this mean you won't be rotating the chassis between race meets like you have done this year and that the teams two current cars become spares? I actually was waiting to hear you would be building four new chassis's for next year :D

If I told the guys we were building four new cars, I'd have a mutiny on my hands!

The two cars we race now will become spares. The events at the start of the season, all down south, will likely precipitate some rotation.
