im pretty sure it was car no 28. It started the race with John Bowe driving and retired around the same time as car 17

Car 17 was entered as Johnson/Bowe, with 18 under Costanzo/Smith.
28 was TBA/TBA

Revised entries as of Tuesday morning of race week are:
17: Johnson/Crichton
18: Costanzo/Smith
28: Bowe/Gravett
Car 18 was awarded 2nd, under the names of ; Johnson/Bowe/Smith

18 was the old nail, 28 was the Silverstone car IIRC, and 17 was pretty much new from memory. 2nd in 1988 was creditable considering they lost time replacing a starter motor, and that the car wasn't terribly sharp in the handling department either
