Just finished reading the article in AA. If all true (keeping in mind it's Auto Action) then driver movements will possibly have a bigger effect on team success, across the field, than it has in years.
Fabian to DJRTP is actually welcome, as far as I'm concerned, although he can't sign until the end of the season because of contractual legalities with BJR. This aside, it would appear to be a done deal, with speculation about a second car/REC not being set in stone at this point. A more competitive DJR car and driver combo actually challenging for regular podiums, and running at the pointy end pretty regularly is something we have all been missing, and hoping for, for some time now. Scott Pye has shown flashes of success, but things just haven't clicked and perhaps a shakeup in the DJRTP driver lineup could see fortunes improve.
Fabian is a frontrunner, and apart from driving talent he knows how a car should feel, and be set up, to be a contender. If they do reclaim the team REC from 'Super Black', and run the second car, I would wonder who will fill the seat. Although, I also have to say that Pye in the second car wouldn't be a bad idea, as I'm sure having Fabian as lead driver could very well see an improvement in Pye's results.
Here's hoping for something to be cheering about in 2016.
