I wasn't sure where to put this topic but I suppose here is as good as any.

I was looking through some pics on the old hard drive and realised how good the original BA in Shell colours looked. I think that would have to be one of my favourites. But I still like the reverse "Cobra" scheme on the XC's.

Hard to pick between the 2!

That Shell BA does look good doesn't it Jase! I came across a pic the other day & thought WOW, they did a great job on that back in 03.

My top 5..

1. 84 Greens-tuf XE. Just love that car & has to be the toughest looking Aust Touring Car ever produced.

2. 81 TRU BLU XD @ Bathurst. With Prudential across the front guards it looked smick. Being successful helped also.

3. 79 XC Coupe. Not as successful but looked tough & sleek at the same time. Loved those tinted headlight covers as well.

4. 92 Shell Sierra. While most of the livery hadn't changed in 6 years of running those red rockets, the 92 car seemed to look that little better with just the Shell signage up the side.

5. 94 EB @ Sandown-Bathurst. Once again, it's results could cloud my judgement here but it did look **** hot & went fairly well too IIRC...

I shouldn't have limited it to 5 there is so many great looking DJR cars..

86 Mustang in Greens Tuf & JPS
2001 Shell AU
2007 Jim Beam
etc
etc
etc...

I was just looking at all my DJR models and the standouts of those are.
1. Westpoint, pity the company were a bunch of dodgy pr1cks.
2. First Rock
3. 89 Bathurst Sierra, the wheels really set the car off.
4. Black Jim Beam
5. Bathurst reverse Cobra, very plain side on but looks great head on.

every DJR livery is special cause thats the type of fans we are,

Numero uno for me will always be the Greens-Tuf XE, man that was a mean looking race car.

on the subject of the XE, what sort of lap do you reckon Dick would have done in Hardies Heroes in 83 if he didnt hit the trees?

I have done my own rough calculations and reckon it would have been a low to mid 15, Brocky took pole that year with a 2.16.27...

hindsight is a wonderful thing, but who knows what may have been if the 83 Hardies crash didnt happen.

what do you guys reckon?

Could it have been the first car to break into the 14's???? I guess we will never know. That thing was a jet in a straight line and didn't it sound awesome going up mountain straight into Griffins.

There's nothing like a Clevo' in full cry to get the adrenaline pumping!

My favorite is the Shell EB
then the Black and red Jim Beam, Cars
then the old AU 12 in first rock colours ( maybe it was just the AU front, but it looked tough )
next would be the XC two doors.
and the Red Shell Sierra ( almost in Queenslander colours )

XD Tru Blu (all of them)
XE Greens Tuf
THE SIERRA!!! (everyone please bow down now for the Sierra!) I saw this car kick some pretty big european ass in the UK in "88. Made me even more proud to be an Aussie.
XC
XE Red Roo in Blue
Greens Tuf Mustang (an under-rated car in my opinon only) Dick made a good race car from what wasn't much to work with.

I'm taking the easy way out:D

I don't really want to rate them, so I'll give special mention to the 2003 BA, the 2007 'black' livery, and I can't go past the 1994 EB Falcon.
