It was a dog all right! An ex production car converted to a sports sedan.
Father used to drive it for Bryan Byrt but he had lost his racing licence at the time so Dick was asked if he wanted to have a go. The rest, as they say, is history.

didnt that thing have a vinyl roof ?
It had the chrome trim strip that normally came with a vinyl roof, but this originally just marked the demarcation line between the original green and purple colour scheme IIRC. It was originally probably as good as any of the Group C XA Tudors, but apparently a horrible sports sedan...
