Lakeside Raceway is celebrating 50 years of touriing cars with the Shannons Classic Speedfest on the 13-14th of August with NO noise restrictions.

The Bowdens will be taking Two of their most loved and loudest cars in the Moffstang and the Beechey Monaro.

Can't wait it should be a ripper of a day.

Maybe we could get a DJRClub 17 gathering going out there..[sh]

pending confirmation of one or two other things, I will be there with bells firmly on.

Tru Blu would be a welcome sight there on that day too, with some of its folklore steeped in Lakeside's history...

Those attending will also get to go into a draw for a ride around Lakeside in either the Monaro or Moffstang.

Once in a lifetime opportunity that is.

Is that for the Club17ers or the general public attending? Sounds good either way.
Might be attending with mate - pending stuff not happening.

Who on here is going this weekend?

I may/may not go Saturday but will definately be there on Sunday with the Bowdens. We have the Moffstang, Beechey Monaro and one other car going down.

Hope to see some of you there.

And remember anyone who buys some of the magnificent products from the Bowdens Own range will go into the draw to do some laps in either the Moffstang or Beechey Monaro.

When you look at what a bloody awesome and gorgeous car the XC two door was, you'd ahve the say the XD was a pretty brave move from Ford, especially looking at them side by side there, and although we love true blue, was the XD recieved a bit like the AU when it first came out?

Great pic's

Top shots Poita!!
Why, oh why don't today's cars evoke the same sort of emotion as those?

Maybe something to do with the fact that everyone could associate with these cars due to the fact that you could own one that resembled the cars on the track whereas nowdays the cars look nothing like what we can go and buy.

The fact also that todays cars are seperated by just a badge.

Yeah ...
and the way they sat, the sound, the tyres, the sideways coming out of the corners,...
