I just read on another forum that Jnr might hang up the helmet at the end of the year???

I certainly hope not:( i would be trying to get a seat at Tasman Motorsport...

I've heard dumb rumours before, but this one takes the cake.

I have no connections to DJR/FORD whatsoever, but I'll confirm this one for you.

PURE RUBBISH.

Steven Johnson to drive a V8 Supercar fulltime in 2006.

Why would he retire? As much as c ouple of us rail against the usual cycle where we start each year looking for big things, Steve has managed to drag some pretty good results out of the cars.... I'm starting to wonder if he's not making the car look a bit better than it really deserves...

I am with you Henry!
There has been a few drivers come and go at DJR and Steven has beaten all of them. Also SBR wouldn't have been considering him if he was a chump!Plenty of people that know more than all of us rate him highly, admittedly he is no Craig Lowndes but he is still pretty damn good!
I think he is making a bad car look good!

I was really impressed with his speed on the weekend and he once again looks like he will out perform his team mate this year. I am mad keen into R/C Car racing and i had the privillage of being able to watch Junior take the control of a 1/10th 200mm Nitro, 1/8th scale Nitro, & a 1/5th scale gas car for a blast around Brendale in Brisbane a few years ago. I have been racing for many years and it has taken me alot of laps to get my eye into the groove.... Jnr did this with all three of these cars within a hand full of laps and of course knew the natural racing line:D

My hat goes off to him and i know he has natural talent:)

Jnr`s only 29 points behind Mconville for a top 10 finish and after his effort in Tassie must be a chance to finish in the top ten.

it is easy to beat your team mate when you get a new one each year & they never get a chance to settle, while jnr gets 5-6 years to settle!!!

Seton's a chance to finish in the top 10 as well, but it is very marginal at best. 12th-13th is probably the realistic goal at the Island, championship-wise, unless Glenn pulls a blinder out.

Hi guys,

Found a computer over here in Tassie. Remember that Glenn does very very well in PI and hasn't finished out of the top 10 there for the last 10 years. If he can pull a good one, then he could still end up top 10 in the championship.

Sorry folks was`nt sure if seto had a chance at the top ten as well.Would be great for DJR if both cars ended up in the top ten.

And Deano to win the HPDC series as well

How do you explain Steven beating Paul Radisich with that logic joe?
Don't get me wrong, I like jnr & hope DJR sign him again. But I also hope DJR keep Seto... DJR have been building Falcon's to jnr liking for years, jnr knows the car, team, setup & his engineer.. Seto was all new this year & had to learn the car, team, engineer & get the setup to his liking & his only 2 places behind jnr in the championship (Due to 2 pretty average rounds from Seto, which where not all his fault).. So for DJR management to come to the conclusion that jnr is doing such a great job & resign him & then sack Seto 1 year short of his 2 year contact is just plain bad management in my mind.. Either both jnr & seto have done a good job (so keep both) or they have done a bad job (get ride of both).. If DJR want to move forward they need to keep a driver in #18 for more than 1 year... I could understand if Seto was 10-15 spots behind jnr, but he is not & his done this with a car at the start of the year that was not designed/built to his liking, where as, jnr did!!! add to that, Seto should be given a large % of the contribution in getting DJR moving in the right direction speed wise and for getting jnr to try so hard!!! When was the last time jnr was driven this good?? Probably when the rat was pushing him so hard..

Yet they still want to get ride of him... Just plan dumb if you ask me!!

And I for one truely believe if DJR keep both jnr & Seto for 2006, that 2006 will be looking very good!!!
