We all remember John for his efforts at Bathurst [^] more so than his achievements in the ATCC where he didn't quite have the same success to match his 1st & 2nd at Bathurst..

Q.1a. What was John French's best ever round result in the ATCC [?]
1b. Driving what brand of car [?]

Q.2a. What was the highest John ever finished in a ATCC [?]
2b. Driving what brand of car [?]

Correct on Q.1 JB-17. Also noteworthy is that it was the first of the Factory GT-HO's to race in the ATCC IIRC..

In this particular race meeting at Surfers, Moffat actually practiced both the GTHO & his usual mount, the Coca-Cola Mustang, before deciding to race the Mustang in the race & going on to beat home Jane's Comaro to take the win!!

Anyone want to have a stab at Q.2 ??????

Your pretty switched on JB!!! 100% Correct!!

Isn't it hard to believe in 1966 that a Cooper S (I know they were a great car) finished 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th & 9th in the ATCC. Even more amazing that this particular round was held at Mt Panorama over only 20 laps & the fastest Cooper S of John Harvey finished 1 lap down in those 20 laps behind Big Pete's mighty Mustang, Beechey's Chevy Nova & Bartlett's Alfa GTA in 3rd.

How times have changed!!!
