Dick Johnson Racing (“DJR”), the longest operating and most successful team in Australian motor racing history, today confirmed two Australian-based brands as major partners who have joined at the 11th hour to secure DJR’s immediate future in V8 Supercars.
Leading provider of integrated global card solutions, Advam, and Australia’s leading provider of security and response services, Wilson Security, will partner with the Queensland based team as they start their 2013 International V8 Supercars Championship journey.
Newly appointed General Manager, Dick Johnson Racing, Steve Johnson, was upbeat about the new partnerships, “As I increase my managerial role with our team, I can’t think of two better partners than Advam and Wilson Security.
“It will be an unusual feeling watching the two DJR Falcons roll out into pit lane next week without the Johnson name on the side. But I know both our drivers will do a great job for our team this year. We have the most loyal and passionate fans on pit lane and I really want to show the Advam and Wilson Security teams what it means to be part of our large DJR family. I know our fans will all get behind our 2013 partners and drivers,” Johnson finished.
Wilson Security’s Chief Executive Officer, John McMellan, “Wilson Security provides security services to lots of iconic infrastructure within Australia and what better fit is there than ensuring an icon of Australian motorsport, is securely on the grid for Adelaide.
“There is also tremendous history with Wilson Security ambassador John Bowe and DJR. Dick and JB created many great DJR moments together, so there was an obvious link for us with the team. Who knows, we might even reunite the old band in the garage in Adelaide!” McMellan concluded.
Jose DaSilva CEO from Advam "Adelaide is our home town and what better way to highlight the brand capability of ADVAM than turning up with one of the icons of Australian Motorsport in DJR, we can’t wait to see "ADVAM Racing" at our home track.
Dick Johnson Racing is grateful for the support of their partners; Advam, Wilson Security, Crimsafe, Shell, Ford, Cool Drive, New Age Caravans, Cabcharge, Jaylec, Wiseman Lawyers, Scania, Q Automotive Group, HAAS, AlfexCNC, Earthex, PPG / Protec, Formula Digital, Macnaught, Mimaki, King Springs, BJ Ball Papers, Cynergy Printing, FIX Coffee and the DJR Team Mates.
Dick Johnson Racing will begin their 2013 International V8 Supercar Championship on the streets of Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 from 28 February – 3 March 2013. Fans can meet the new drivers at the several public signing sessions at the track on Friday at 1010, Saturday at 1300 and Sunday at 0900.
An announcement regarding the second driver at Dick Johnson Racing will be made early next week.
