We all know that the likes of FPR, 888 and Team Tom will spend evry cent they get in running a v8 super car team regardless of how much money they have.
What are the positive ways forward for a catagory that in my opinion has it's life limited because of the way it currently run??

My thoughts.
Get rid of Cochbrain
The engines are to expensive.
At this stage keep using the current engines but make them use more off the shelf items with no modifications.
In 95 i asked dick how many Km's they got out of an engine before rebuilding?? he said they would do between 4 and 5 thousand with out a problem. Basically 1 engine would last a season.
These days Ross Stone said they are lucky to last 1500km

I like the idea of different Ford and Holden chassis and the line that Wankingshaw took even though not in the spirit of the rules certainly makes them a shit load easier and cheaper to fix.

Get rid of all sensors apart from mechanical eg, diff temp gearbox temp and engine temp oil pressure. This will have the effect of making the drivers work out what a car needs rather than a computer analysist.
More Off the shelf componetry and make every one use it.

Oh and get them looking more like something you can buy

I guess the other shcool of thought is to go completely the other way and have a category control tube chassis,a full roller, which includes diff, drive train and gearbox, and brake assemblys, no deviation.

carbon fibre or Kevlar bodies with precisely the same drag numbers.

Engines from the factory with rev and HP limiters, no deviation.

Stick with a control tyre.

Unlimited test days (free entry for fans [lol] )

Absolutely - bring back a more Group C style category - although V8 exclusive, and lets see who really has the talent - would be nice to see a car drift out of a corner occasionally (DJ @ Adelaide in 1983)
