It's finally come around again, the first round of a new season. There has been lots of changes over the off season, what with new manufacturers, new cars, new teams, new drivers, and new sponsors. Fair to say it's been slightly more interesting than watching a round of the camel cup in abu dhabi do.

Not too sure what to expect when the cars roll out on Friday. I expect the two big teams, T8 and FPR to be pretty much on it from the get go, however, suspect there will be a few that punch above their weight early on whilst some come to terms with the new cars. Wouldn't be surprised to see BJR snag a few results.

Also looking forward to a bit more spice in pit lane. Loving what Betty is bringing. It's so refreshing to see a team owner be so honest and open. Hope it keeps up and the old school don't wear her down. I don't think that will happen, she seems tougher than that, and good luck to her and erebus, my new favourite second team.

And there is a little bit of me that wants to see SVG get served with papers in the paddock disallowing him to drive because of the sh!t that he pulled in the off season. The other thing I would like to see is Casey Stoner come off second best at turn 8 in the dunlop series and Frosty call him an amateur. But that's just me

We are in for a tough year, always going to be the way when you are running two rookies, and don't have a huge budget. And this is probably one of the better fields this year, not too many bunnies going around.

I am heading down for the weekend, and will attempt to get some photos, but can't promise anything. Anyone else heading along or got any predictions?

I for one would like to see Stoner bin it for all his smartarse and smug comments but i would hope that if he does Frosty doesn't say a word as why would he want to stoop so low to Stoner's level.

Agree with your summation PB. In particular, it will certainly be a baptism of fire for Casey Stoner and I have no respect whatsoever for SVG.

Tim Blanchard should go ok barring misfortune as his Adelaide form is half ok, but to be honest I am not really feeling the vibe this year.

The Gizz almost deserves permenent TTT status in the tipping comp for the stunt he pulled, there had to have been a better way to have achieved what he eventually did.

there is no doubt Casey will have the wood on the field in terms of metal under the seat, the question is will he be thinking two or four wheels once out on the track, we've all seen the stupidity of previous bike champs who think their car becomes twelve inches wide at the turn and then blames everyone for cutting them up, could end in tears.

I'm hopeful that the Fords can do ok with a minority in the field and obviously no brand based support between the teams or drivers, still like to see a Ford win even if its he who cannot be named's ford,. [crackup]

the Merc's sound great , the nissans have big big bucks behind them and possibly R&D from back under the cherry blossom land ,. .

all in all the series has the potential to come alive,. . . .

and then the alarm clock goes off,. . . [bgn]

It's just going to be another Red Bullshyte racing benefit.

Hell i even want HRT to beat them.

I don't want Stoner in the wall at turn 8. I hope he turns it into a pile of steaming poo on a really easy corner. i want him to look like a complete fool for all his smart arse comments
