Ok, so we know the following;

1. FPR will expand to 3 cars in 2010.
2. SBR and FPR have an aliance with chassis/engine program
3. DJR and PCR currently have T8 chassis
4. Brighty to FPR
5. SGR to close down
6. T8 to Holden

Considering the above, what other viable options to DJR have aside from PCR if they want to expand to 4 cars?

The look on Paul Cruikshank's face when one of his cars was seveerly damaged on the weekend said it all, it's getting expensive, If he could get some assistance to lower costs he might be interested.

I spoke to Charlie at Bathurst and asked him if Steve was signed for next year. He assured me that the contract had been negotiated and was just waiting to be signed.
Lets hope hes right, as things would not be the same at DJR without the Johnson name on the window of car 17, although the way DJ was pedalling the greens tuff machine on the weekend i think he should have another crack.

I'm with you, Seeing James Moffat pedaling that Falcon around the Mount reminded me of Mark Winterbottom in a SBR prepared AU Falcon, They were both the best in the field and by a long way. I Dont know which sponsor Sonic will bring to the main game? But if SGR is folding well Bob Jane T-Marts will be free, And that is their current DVS sponsor.
Its only a matter of time until James is a level 1 driver, And with his Dad's driving in Factory Falcons, FPR should be interested and give Richo the door IMHO.

Now Auto Action has Paul Morris saying it's not so and that he is in talks with Tim Slade and Troy Bayliss who apparently has a bit of sponsorship behind him.

Fujitsu backs two-car GRM team

Sorry to see Fujitsu leave the Ford camp but I guess there going back to Caruso or was that Fernando or Hosay something?....Just hope Ford can keep up with the Holden camp who are muscleing up for 2010.

All in all there seems to be a very healthy interest from sponsors for the V8`s and as D?lberto said: It is hard to get a liscence at the moment with alot of new people also wanting to get in on the action!

Some one must be doing something right!

Go you Good things.......V8 Supercars!

There's a combination that's destined to end up badly, a new team and a driver who bins them at nearly every race.[bgn]

If Lucas Dumbrell is to be team owner, there is no doubt where the cash is coming from, is this some way of getting around the grouping rules as Gary and Paul Dumbrell are tied to HRT and perhaps cannot add another licence?
Hope Lucas does have an active interest in it, the poor guy needs something to look forward to as he rebuilds his life

Cameron McConville will quit full-time V8 Supercar racing at the conclusion of this season.

The 35-year-old, driver of the WOW Racing Commodore VE, has decided to hang up his full-time helmet and will concentrate on a new business venture and his media commitments with Channel 10 as its expert Formula 1 commentator.

McConville told the Brad Jones Racing team of his decision last Friday.

?I just decided that with opening a business and my media commitments, one thing in my life had to go,? he told Speedcafe.

?As difficult as it is to give up racing, I had to decide what?s the best for my family for the next five, 10 years, and the decision was made to step back from driving and concentrate on some new challenges.?

McConville has acquired a Jax Quickfit tyre outlet franchise, operating a store in Moorabbin, Victoria. He opened that business today.

While he will officially step away from full-time driving at the conclusion of this season, he said he?s very keen to secure an endurance V8 role and pursue other one-off events.

?I still think I?m not passed my use-by date,? he said.

?Obviously I want to do the enduros. I?d like to do them with a competitive team, as well as do the test days and the co-driver sessions, plus a couple of one-off races in other classes. I?d still love to do some GT racing of some description.?

McConville has made 136 championship starts with his one and only victory coming at the Winton round in 2004 with Garry Rogers Motorsport. He has also finished second at Bathurst twice (1999 and 2000)

Wilson Security Racing driver Fabian Coulthard is a free agent and looks poised to switch V8 Supercar teams next year.

Australian Auto Action reports today that Walkinshaw Racing is courting the New Zealander to replace Paul Dumbrell, who has been linked to switch to The Bottle-O backed Ford Performance Racing entry next year.

Walkinshaw Racing recently confirmed that its sponsor Bundaberg Red Rum had taken its option to back the Holden team for another year, and Coulthard could become the driver of that car. Current Bundaberg driver David Reynolds is believed to be likely to stay within the WR fold.

Coulthard is currently locked into a driving contract with his current employer Paul Cruickshank Racing, but he told Speedcafe that he has been allowed to look around.

"PC (Cruickshank) has given me the opportunity to talk the other teams," Coulthard told Speedcafe.

"I guess that if there?s a team that provide me an opportunity to win the championship, he?ll let me go.

"I?m in the box seat. I?ve got a deal for next year, but if something better comes along, then I might have options.

"I have no reason for me to be worried at this stage."

Talk of Coulthard being courted by other V8 teams has been lingering around the Supercar paddock since Sandown in July this year, but the growing speculation around him now suggests a decision won?t be too far away ?
